    Seen.

LOL! Oscar trying to transform Clenelo into his play thang. This has "The Skin I Live In" all over it.

Bravo, a "Skin I Live In" reference, sadly you and I are probably the only people on the forum that's seen it.

Almadovar went full on Jess Franco for that movie, its one of his finest films in recent memory, its a pity it didn't get the credit it deserved. Bad Education fan too I suppose?:sisi1

Rofl I thought you were joking until I read the article. GBP and Oscar in particular have completely lost their minds.

I just googled cosmetic knee surgery, and it's basically lipo to remove excess fat and loose skin when really obese people lose weight. Such BS from GBP.

Ahem... although I am not a massive Almodovar fan - the histrionics annoy rather than invigorate me. My favourite Spanish film is likely Bigas Luna's Jamon Jamon (or maybe Pan's Labyrinth).

Your post does make me think though.... is film taste related to boxing preference? I love Japanese cinema: Kurasawa to Takeshi Kitano, and SE Asian movies in general - Park Chan Wook's "Lady Vengence" trilogy, the films of Zhang Yimou... plus a lot of really trashy "Wu Kung Fu". Is that related to my love of all-action Asian / Pacific boxers: Manny through to Sor and Inoue? The moivie and boxing cultures seem to share a mix of extreme, bloody violence with dedication and skill: high output, balls-to-the-wall balletic violence.

I fully agree with you that it does and I touched on that in this article I wrote a few years back.

I like Almadovar, but he's far from my favorite Spanish director, that would be Luis Bunuel or Jess Franco, I love Jamon Jamon as well, especially thee nipple chewing scene.
