And cambell and Ortiz making 150K and 100K is pretty damn good anyways. With 75% of 40% of 1.5million, Paulie made 450K for that fight. And if GBP paid Arum 125K which is 30% of the profit, that means that the profit margin was 415K (290K after Arum). If you take into account 150K to Don king. Campbell 150K Oritz 100K Arum 125K GBP Profit 290K King 150K TOTAL = 815K which is more than the 750K licensing fee. Khan getting 60% of 1.5M is 900K, just under his alegged 1M guarantee. So I don't see the big deal here, even if GBP shaved off 100K from their profits to pay Khan the balance
Exactly PHILLA, if you say, "i need $750k to make a fight" and you can get the fighters to agree to $250k of that to satisfy what they want to fight while pocketing $500k, that is good old fashioned capitalism. Then, if u need to take money out of that to cover your ass on another fight, you are set and still turned a nice profit. The saddest thing is that these promoters are making more than the fighters a majority of the time.
Why are you all so shocked ?not only do the promoters carve the boxers up , Managers take payment on the side to get there fighter to take less than the fight is worth! Then they take a third of the purse .
what the hell does bob arum have to do with this?:huh and goddammit, that's the smallest font i've ever read. WTF!!
Never will get these ******s who don't understand that there is enough money to go around and instead try to **** everyone in the process and wind up in trouble.
I was surprised. Hell, the guy seemed to be one of their top prospects, and he's making so very little.
Dude 100k is still a lot of money. The fighters did not get the money that they should've gotten in the first place. I believe that they've signed a contract and the contract was breach. The point is GBP, Oscar De la Hoya and his Richard Shaffner just committed a crime.
