This will go down as the final card ever listed on the legendary Tim Hock's (known to many on X/Twitter as Tim Boxeo) weekly boxing schedule on Stanza. End of an era.

I've had the honor of doing the RBR for the last two "random obscure club shows around the world" highlighted on the schedule that were internationally free-to-air; this and Tasana Salapat vs. Tô Phi Vinh yesterday morning. (Technically also listed is a card this evening in Canada featuring Mathieu Germain vs José Gerardo de León Jasso as its main event on internet PPV, but they wanted twenty American smackeroos for that garbage. )

 

Apparently barring any banana peels we could see Curiel vs. Ortíz in the works soon...

Just looked into the Flores boys, and no it's no coincidence that Manuel "Gucci Manny" Flores and Grant Flores Jr. are featuring together in the supporting bouts. If you thought maybe they were related but were thrown off by them being from different cities in Cali - turns out they're cousins.

 

He'd better impress; -2000 fave.

 

Just got my last ever Google Calendar notification from the Stanza.

He made a cryptic tweet earlier this week just saying he was done, wouldn't be maintaining the Stanza going forward or covering random club fights on Twitter (still can't bring myself to call it stupid X ) but made sure to let everyone know there was nothing to be concerned over and he is "happy and healthy".

My guess is burnout, maybe accelerated by all the arsehole copyright strikes against him from big corporations who aren't losing a dime by him spreading the joy of small fry club fights.

 

Ooh...they just showed a banner for William Zepeda vs. Mercito Gesta, my first time hearing about it. Should be a bitching fight.

 

Man, what is with so many people aping the RJJ flying gazelle hook lately? Anyway, young Chávez just scored a buzzer-beating KO3 with it just a few seconds away from the round bell.
