I don't remember 100% but wasn't Williams vs Canelo signed before Martinez vs Chavez? And of course they aren't going to have a PPV fight the same night that Pacquiao would have a PPV fight.
Canelo has a huge mexican following and sell out where Sergio fights Irish fighters on St Pattys day in the THEATER at MSG. Its not even a question Canelo is the bigger name Sergio is relatively unknown.

Why would GBP eat into their pockets or doesn't make sense with canelo and Martinez they aren't eating into their pockets so they have their war.
I have a feeling that reason that they are hoping Canelo gets the chance to fight Pac on the 8th since Canelo wants ti return for a big fight in Dec. but maybe they should after the 15th tand wait for the outcome of that fight and if Canelo wins then Maybe a fight can be made but it's hardly doubtful since Pac only fights at catchweights
So Pac smartened up and instead of going h2h against Cotto he moved his fight to the 8th instead of the original date of the 1st. Pac got scurred.
