GBP has become a giant in just two years. Maybe the strongest force in boxing. By the way, Nigel Collins (The Ring editor) said that GBP won't interfere with editorial decisions.
He can say whatever he wants, but it will still clearly have an impact on their articles and rankings. There should be a separation of powers type of thing going on, with promoters, boxing scribes, sanctioning bodies, etc. being separate entities. I like what GBP has done for boxing, but I'm not about to say that there definitely won't be any scandals and corruption just because De La Hoya seems like a really nice guy. At least with Don King, everyone knows that he's a dirtbag and doesn't trust anything he does. But De La Hoya has this squeaky clean image right now, which will allow him to get away with things that other promoters probably couldn't. Can you imagine the outrage if Don King bought Ring Magazine?
Talk to me when Oscar makes somebody "ELSE" as rich as DK made Tyson. It aint his fault Mike ****ed it off.
