Golden Boy have been absolute crooked *******s in the past few years, to say the least. If I'm remembering correctly they had some kind of investigation into serious corruption not too long ago.

There's no love loss between Mayweather and Hoya. Could Golden Boys involvement in this fight have any kind of influence?

I know Ortiz was supposed to be a superstar years ago. The next potential De La Hoya. A massive money maker.

The ability to make him a superstar seems right there again. He could become a superstar to say the least.

    Thoughts?

Golden Boy makes more money off Mayweather than they do off Ortiz.

Ortiz could be groomed to be just as much a moneymaker as Mayweather in my opinion.

Look at what Alvarez is doing.

Being good doesn't have much to do with making money

wrong. The top money makers are almost always ATG's and definitely hall of famers. If Alvarez is a bust in terms of ability, he won't make that much money. I doubt Alvarez is making several million dollars every fight.

People pay to see the best. There's other factors too but first and foremost they wanna see the best.

This. They have a few more opponents they could use to milk big promotions off him. They'd be stupid to jeopardise their relationship before Mayweather is done. Khan or Alvarez fights would present a better opportunity for it, they are budding superstars and have more potential than Ortiz to go further.
