Any fighter can demand it, of course. I don't fault Trout for asking for additional testing. However, I just don't think a fighter should be condemned if he refuses.

The only way a fighter should be forced to take additional testing is if the sanctioning body or boxing commission demand it. Otherwise, they're well within their rights to refuse.

Yeah, I've seen no source for it either. I'd rather it not be true, because, well, it's a **** sandwich.

Looks like to me that they have been testing more in 1st quarter 2012 than they have been in previous years 1st quarters and no coincidence that it's an Olympic year no doubt. Also they only have results from 1st quarter of 2012. Compare 1st quarter 2012 to the other 1st quarters from previous years the numbers of being tested is up.

How Berto and his team (read: Al Haymon) handled their positive "A' sample as opposed to how Peterson did illustrates how different each camp will handle the "A" sample. I agree that there need to be a provision set in place for if a fighter tests positive but drags his feet on revealing the "A" result in hopes the fight will go on.

In MLB, Ryan Braun (synth. test. T/E 20:1) never even tested his "B" sample. His team wait and waited and got off by attacking the chain of custody (the kind of legal team a MLB contract can buy) and his 50 games suspension was lifted.

GBP being angry at VADA instead of Peterson for not revealing the "B" sample says two things:

    1) They are very inexperienced in this process despite going through it 7 times now with 2 positive results.

    2) Again, inexperience or something else led them to not sign that VADA contract. That is an inept team that should be reprimanded. Again, that is on GBP not VADA who did their job as advertised: they caught drugs in a fighters' system.

Notice you don't see legal proceedings from GBP. Schaefer has bragged about how he would win that case with VADA. Well, where is it? Lot of bluster from Schaefer. Not a lot of actual legal action. Remember, he and Oscar had to apologize for their comments regarding Pacquiao. These guys leap before looking often.

Well it's the 4th out of competition quarter where it's believed the most doping occurs, and in the 4th quarter in 2007 before the Olympics USADA suddenly halved the amount of out of competition tests they conducted compared to previously years/quarters. Weird.

The corresponding quarter for this Olympics would be ooc q4 2011, which is in keeping with the usual levels.
