JT is going back to Pat Burns. In my opinion, if Jermain had never allowed Ozell Nelson to stir up ****, and had stayed with Burns all along, he would still be the undisputed middleweight champion of the world. Like or not, that's my opinion.

We'll see what the future holds. I hope Taylor can have one more good run.

This fight will not happen. Roger once put them in the ring together to spar but they did this instead.

  3. I'd back Taylor for more fights, good no BS exciting fighter. Hasn't had the best run and needed some time off for recovery but great news is a come back.

GBP signing Jermain Taylor and Paulie is bittersweet.

    Its a positive because -

So what if they arent the elite? They have given a lot of themselves to this sport and its always good to see past it fighters or lesser level fighters not just get tossed aside into the scrap heap that boxing all too regularly does to its combatants. I dont know why anyone would be critising this move on that front. Of course they will be matched up with rising talent? This is boxing, that **** has happened since the beginning of its time, and will always happen, its simply a natural part of the sport. Its up to Jermain and Paulie to flip the script and deliver on their end and eather upset these young guns, or at least give a great showing. On top of that, GBP are the ones paying these guys, Jermain Taylor doesnt exactly have people lining up at his door to sign him im sure, and that GBP would want to sign him and give him that form of security that one can have in boxing at least, is a good thing.

    The negative, to me is.

I wanted these two to retire. Both can have good futures doing something else even if it means that have to live a little more humbly financially then they have been. Neather have apparent (though i suppose they could prove me wrong) futures in any division as a meanginful challenger or champion and both take waaaaaaaay too much punishment for their own good. I guess i would have just rather seen these two ride off into the sunset without any more heartbreaking and brainjarring losses. Paulie is a smart, smooth talking individual who would be a fit behind a mic anywhere.

    Idk.... just IMO.

They will be used as undercard opponents for their young stars to beat up on.That Paulie,et.al. don't realise this proves they are all delusional.

I've always liked Jermaine Taylor and figured he would be back. On one hand I'd like to see him give it another run. Maybe the time off and a change of scenery will help. He'll never return to the fighter he was when he was 160 champ but he might have enough left to make for some interesting fights at 168 or even 175.

On the other hand, Taylor has been in some tough fights his last few times out and been ko'ed badly a time or two. I'd hate to see things turn out bad for him. I think if matched right he can still make some noise but will most likely end up as a stepping stone for some young guys coming up. Golden Boy is probably going to line up a Jacobs-Taylor fight in the next year or so.
