Even on a reasonable list (which this Ring Magazine certainly is not), Hearns wouldn't be a top 10 middleweight.

This has already been discussed in Classic. Needless to say, most posters there weren't impressed, either.:D

Interesting point was made about Ring contradicting a list that was previous produced...

    * Hopkins was listed at 16 at the time (bear in mind that this was pre-unification and Tito), and Ring acknowledged that X would likely be placed higher in subsequent lists. He was removed from the list in 2004 when they re-printed it, because he was still active at the weight and they weren't rating fighters who were active at the weight.

(Again, there was still the implication that he would be a lock for a spot in the Top 10 once his time at middleweight was done).

Felix Sturm directly below Sugar Ray Robinson on an All Time list.

Got to admit, that's not something I ever expected to see.

Sturm beat Oscar so he must be an all time G. Nice going Oscar.

Hearns is NOT a top ten MW.

RJJ is NOT a top 10 MW.

I don't think Oscar influences The Ring. This is just a bad list from bad journalists. If someone like Dan Rafael did their list, it would be equally as unimpressive. Boxing journalism is terrible right now.
