Hi Lancs, I am far from being a grammar Nazi, but that guy is a complete hypocrite and deserved his merciless mauling. :deal

Once is forgiveable, trying to sound clever and making the same mistake twice is embarrassing.

    Mauling? They (you?) were wrong.

Trying to sound superior to prove an argument is shitty and should be called when possible.

    Bell-ends.

I think he had serious anxiety problems. It's too bad he was mentally ill, because he certainly had the skills and ability to be a serious problem for anyone. He was whipping Bowe's ass for sure.

Gołota has broken cheekbones against Tyson, but his "glassheart" was visible in fights with Bowe, LL and Grant.

Yeah, I always wish Golota would have Adamek's toughness, but that just wasn't part of his make up. There's no question, the guy had anxiety/panic attacks. There are reports of him refusing to come out of locker rooms for a fight cause of his nerves. Golota was a stutterer and an introvert too. You could clearly get that when he speaks to strangers. He was one of those people who is slow to warm up to but apparently many who knew him say that he is a nice, like able, funny guy once he gets comfortable with you.

In any event, many of the chin checkers apparently do not know their craft. Golota has faced some of the hardest hitters in heavyweight boxing. He was tagged by some hellacious shots, none of them could put him to sleep. He always tried to get up and sometimes got up very quickly. He was never laid out or put to sleep. Having said that, I think Golota was not great at taking punches. They totally destroyed any momentum that he had and ruined his concentration and discipline. Every opponent he faced knew this (Lewis set the blueprint and he observed this from the Seoul Olympics) and tried to jump on him from round one before he could warm up.

No one could deny his skills and entertainment value. He's one of the most memorable boxers in history, which is why we're still talking about him, years after his retirement.

Only against Bowe and Grant, both fights in which he beat the ****ing living hell out of his opponents. He had some serious issues just before the Lewis fight and wanted to call it off.

Golota's only problem was mental, period.

The title of this thread is not only spiteful, but completely inaccurate and inappropriate.

Unfortanetly, he was slow to warm up in the ring sometimes. How many fights of his did I have to see him get punched hard in the ****ing face to get him going? Golota with Adamek's mental toughness = unstoppable.
