Good win for a 40 year old contender. I wonder what's next for him? Holyfield? Peter? Maskev? Mc Cline? Rematch with Byrd or Ruiz? I wouldn't want to see him try on Brewester. Maybe Joe Mesi could match him. That would be a good match for both guys especially since Golota is ranked in the top 10 by two organizations. Of course a fights that would make a lot of sense are Mc Cline-Golota since both are ranked in the bottom part of the top ten. The winner would have a good shot at getting a title fight.

Golota is not fighting for the money.

As crazy as he is he was smart enough to invest the millions he made in the 90's into Real estate in Jersey.

 

I think Golota certainly redeemed himself, as far as mental toughness goes. Most have to agree with that.

Good win. Ugly fight but good win that showed determination and a strong resolve.

And do we know what caused the eye to swell so badly? My connnection was lost from mid 4th to mid 7th, and so I didn't see what caused the eye to swell. I assume it may have been a headbutt, as Mollo seemed to have used that as his more leathal weapon; head down, charge in!

 

Looked like it came from a punch though Mollo at times tried to use the side of his head to make the swelling worse.

I think Mollo was impressive, ONLY, in his ability to stay on his feet. Watch the youtube clip earlier in this thread of the last round. He seems to almost turn his back on Golota when he's hurt. And had the clinching been pulled apart a bit sooner, Mollo would have been put down, if not, knocked out.

I realize that many fighters clinch on when hurt, but Mollo didn't seem to respect Neuman's authority when trying to pull him off. Mollo knew he was badly hurt and ready to fall, and held on to Golota with all everythign he had, Neuman be damned! He needed a point deducted, in my opinion, cause a couple times, I didn't think Neuman was going to be able to get him off of Golota, he was latched on so tight. LOL
