Who would win between these 2 at their best?

2 of the second tier heavyweights of the 90s.

Golota had everything you could ask from a fighter...physically, Botha on the other hand seemed to be the opposite, mentally he was very strong, but physically nothing special in any departments. Both always found a way to lose their big fights.

Between the 2 of them they fought an amazing amount of good/great heavyweights.
combined, they fought Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe, Moorer, Wlad Klitskcho, Witherspoon, Sanders, Grant, Byrd, Ruiz, Brewster, Adamek, Briggs and Schulz

Who would win out of these 2?

    Botha wins, MORE HEART :deal..

Golota couldn't handle pressure and would find a way to FVCKUP a wet dream, and he had the IQ of an ice cube...

Golota had issues with real class. Botha is/was not real class, Golota probably on points as Botha's ticker in his pomp was his best attribute.

Great matchup if you could control the bi-polar self destructive demon that controlled Golota he would beat Botha in a tough decision fight. But in reality Botha was tough, rough and hit hard enough to beat Golota.

Golota at his best was a pretty talented fighter but he lacked mentally. I think he has the tools to beat Botha pretty soundly but Botha actually wasn't a bad fighter himself and could certainly could make it a tough fight and I think he would go the distance. It would be interesting to see how Golota's holds up (mentally) in the late rounds after taking some big shots from Botha who was a decent puncher. With that being said I gotta favor Golota in this match up but there is always that possibility of him crumbling mentally allowing the other fighter to get the win.

Botha was awful. Golota was a real Boxer.

Golota was light years ahead in talent while Botha was way ahead in heart. I feel golota out boxes him relatively easily but we'll never know because he was so messed up between the ears.

Yes, but Golota was not a "2nd tier" fighter. He was first tier indeed. At his very best, he could whip a lot of asses.

As far as talent and ability, yes he was. Of course he had mental issues. But when he was at his best, he was very good.
Bowe was faded? How long after Bowe defeated Holyfield two out of three times did he fight Golota? Bowe was a good ****ing boxer. I don't care what anyone says. And he slapped Bowe around like a ***** twice.
One time, ok, make an excuse. But twice? Bowe was a good crafty fighter. with power. You act like Golota just beat him by slugging and winging wildly. He beat him tactically. How can you deny the skill that was present there in those performances?

The reason Golota slapped Bowe around 2X, is because Bowe got the life beaten out of him in those 3 fights with Holyfield, and didn't recover..
Also Golota kept smashing him in the balls, which fvcked him up also:deal

Golota had skills and could box, but the talent he had was OFFSET by his fouling, and inability to keep it clean, he probably would have been better off at fighting in bar toughman contests, where there is less regulation..

Combine Botha's mental toughness and fighting will along with Golota's physical assets and you would have one hell of a fighter.

Yes, I agree. But barring that "mental" factor ... based on raw boxing skill and talent, Golota was a top tier Boxer. He was whipping Bowes ass way before the low blows started. That's what was confusing about it. Don't you remember the commentary? I saw all of those fights live.
Golota was a very good technical boxer. He had it all. How could he be second tier? He was fast, light on his feet, great jab, great combo puncher, able to adapt .. etc
    Mentally deficient though.

Golota only really cracked against the best. Id pick him to beat Botha.

Likely Golota would hold up, + he does got 'o-lot-a talent.

    Enough for both-a them.

Golota wouldn't be intimidated by Botha. But he better do a lot of damage early, because Botha would be sticking around awhile, which is something that tended to discourage Andrew.
