And yet he was able to knock Klitchko down three times in his first fight against a world level opponent

To the thread.
Ruiz won the first fight and would have easier time in second fight.
Golota had all the oppotunities in first fight and still he lost. Nothing makes me think he would win nowdays, when he is having hard time against Mike Mollo.

What I meant was that you cant call entire division rubbish.

Sure its not the best era of heavyweight boxing. But when you dominate top contenders, who give champions hard time you cant be clorified clubfighter.

IF it is done without resorting to illegal holding and faking low blows. Since Ruiz couldn't compete at the world class level WITHOUT resorting to such disgraceful tactics, whatever he did was illegitimate to say the least.

And he not only lost to Golota, he lost CLEARLY. Got knocked down twice, lost another point, and landed LESS punches - and yet he got the decision. Now, THAT'S corruption, Don King style!:yep

The 2nd KD served Ruiz right. He was holding onto Golota the entire round, and the entire fight... so ****'m.

Golota got lazy down the stretch thinking he had the fight in the bag. Despite the fact that Ruiz stepped it up towards the end it wasn't enough for a win because there were too many rounds that were "even". Golota won a close fight but he got ripped off, just as he did when he beat Byrd.

Golota wins the 2nd fight again, this time more convincingly.

He wasn’t holding against Valuev, Chagaev and Mccline and it could be argued at he won all three of those.
And there was no King influence against those three either.

Golota was not robbed. Peoples hatred of Johns boring style prevents many of the fans being objective when he is talked about.

McCline? Come on? Ruiz went right back to his illegitimate tactics in that fight. Ruiz doesn't hold, he doesn't win against world class fighters. Why?? Because he has all the boxing "ability" of a high grade clubfighter!

People hate Ruiz because they know that it what he does in the ring is ILLEGAL and DISGRACEFUL, and that he wouldn't get away with it without King's influence. There is something just downright offense about some talentless palooka holding a world title belt based on cheating!:yep

I don’t like he’s holding style either. But there was lots of different in his performance against Mccline, than his fights when he was a belt holder.

And he isn’t King fighter anymore so the King influence explanation don’t work in Mccline fight anyway. :deal

Golota won the first fight, 114-111 on my card.

Six rounds apiece, three points deducted for the two knockdowns and the penalty.

How Ruiz won this fight is simply inexplicable!

If they fought again, Golota beats him even worse.

I understand that. And it is no accident that, since King dumped him, he hasn't won a fight against a top level opponent since. McCline himself is really not that great, a fringe contender at best (and a past-prime one at that). And that is all Ruiz ever would have been himself (if that) without King's influence.

The outrage about Ruiz stems from the way in which he cheated to reach a higher level than he would have otherwise. It offends people's sense of fair play.

Golota won the first fight IMO.

The rematch, if it happens would be 50-50

Bull****, no way did Ruiz beat Chagaev.
