Looks like Golota will soon be ranked #10 in the WBA, meaning, a win over Mollo in January will likely propel him to another title shot against Chagaev.

I've never been overly impressed with Chagaev, and thought he was lucky to get the nod against Valuev (I scored that one a draw).

Now, Golota is old and has a way of personifying Murphy's Law, but that said, I think he has a real chance at beating Chagaev.

    Thoughts?

Might be the second-worst fight out there for Golota.

But screw it, let's see it happen.

Golota shall inevitably school Ruslan Chagaev. :smoke

You really think it's one of the worst match-ups for Golota? I always thought he'd stand a good chance against Ibragimov, Chagaev, or Maskaev, but that he should avoid Wlad and Peter....although, I've SOMEWHAT re-evaluated my views on Peter.

Honestly Rums I have never seen CHagaev fight. By viewing his record, it would seem to me even an older Golota has a decent chance against him. What's his style like?

If Golota beats Mollo, we can expect King to make this fight happen sometime next year.

I'd like to believe that Golota will show no fear of the smaller Russian, settle down & be able to handle what he dishes out & go on to out box him to a UD.

But its hard not to think about Mollo. This is the focus right now. Get over that hump & it will be Russia vs Poland & that alone should get AG's adrenaline flowing. Not to mention a Title belt on the line.

    ((((((((((((((GO GOLOTA)))))))))))))))))

    Freakin' do it this time!:happy

Southpaw who basically pop shotted Valuev most of the night. But thats the giant, not Golota. Hopefully AG's skills (whats left of them) will allow him to get his righthand in there on the button.

He's kind of short also. He's the White Tyson! Golota can take him.

Golata has more skill than Chagaev, more height and reach, more experience, is quicker and a better puncher.
But Andrew will lose, because thats what Andrew does. He snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.
From there the roly poly Ruslan will challenge Wlad but will lack the snap to worry the porcelin chinned champ.

Hopefully Golota will take a stay busy fight after defeating Mollo since the winner of Valuev-Liakhovich is getting the next WBA title-shot.

Where did you hear that about Valuev/LiaKOvich getting the shot? That contradicts what Joecool just told us the other day, but kinda makes more sense.

    :huh

Who knows what will happen. Like you said before, we need to hope Golota scraps by Mollo before we get too far ahead of ourselves.

As I understand it, the Valuev/Sergei winner is next in line for a shot at the WBA titleholder, meaning, the winner of Chagaev and Skelton.

I think if the Golota Mollo winner is beign told they'll get a shot, it'll be late in 2008, cause you know it'll take many months for the winner to fight, then recover from fighting the Valuev Liak winner.

So as I see it, the Golota/Mollo winner, will fight one of four fighters: Chag, Skelton, Valuev, or Liakhovitch......

And I bet it'll be Valuev. Chag's obviously a better boxer than Valuev, but I can't see the Chag getting by Valuev, again. given Valuev's size and seemingly more focused attitude to improving.

Valuev vs. GOlota............. That is what I think will come of all of this mess.

But if its Chag vs. Golota, Chag would paste Andrew by swarming and confusing the big Poleman. Late TKO win for Chag would be my guess.

first off, mollo will kick the mentally impaired golotas ass!!!

    and chagaev would kill him!

but i doubt a comission would sanction chagaev vs golota.

I don't see how Golota can win. Chagev either on points or a knockout.

a fight with chagaev would pay off in two ways for golota:

first, he´d get a nice purse from chagaevs german manager.

and second, the fight would be in germany!!!!!

so golota can show his polish roots........and steal a car:good
