Fighting Chagaev would be the best possible outcome for Golota, sporting wise, but he could fight Holy for some decent bucks, if that's what he is after. Anyway, despite having a chance, he would be clearly the underdog against all the champions, but doesn't have a chance against Wlad. Wlad would brutally KO him in the early rounds.
what if golota wins WBA and defends it against Valuev? Could Golota beat him? Or would he lose to him thanks to mental things and being to afraid of Valuev?
Golota looked fabulous at the weekend staying composed to outlast the ambition of Mike Mollo.. While Chagaev looked very ordinary fighting a surviving Matt Skelton in Germany to retain his WBA Title.. Ruslin had the tougher task trying to raise his game against a man who was very happy to complete the course and make Chagaev look as ordinary as him.. Mollo has only fought up to 8 rounders.. Golota had that fight weighed up but in defeat Mollo will come out looking great..... He has a fine future if he gets his pacing and stamina sorted out... Golota would not have it all his own way against Chagaev, Don't grade Chagaev on the Skelton performance..
I did get the feeling that Golota was in dire trouble of being stopped as the eye worsened... Mollo started to get home with a lot of well aimed shots.. A damn good job that Mollo's legs gave him away..
Chagaev is no Brewster. In fact, he has a lot less pop than Mollo. His moniker, "White Tyson", is an oximoron and more like a case of bad humour. His only chances of winning against Golota are on points. This means his chances are slim because outside of the extremely questionable Ruiz decission, Golota has NEVER lost on the cards.
Golota has something that makes old fighters discover that elusive "fountain of youth." That is a pulverizing and consistent left jab. Yes, he is older and slower. But Golota has everyone. Remember, you cannot underestimate experience. His record is a who's who's of heavyweight boxing over the last 15 years. "The White Tyson" will not have any surprises for Golota. He is a fine fighter who does nothing great but everything good. Golota has proven over the last few years that he can grind it out if need be -see Byrd, Ruiz, Mollo fights. His conditioning is still excellent. And that jab is still something special. As long he steers clear of Wlad he has an excellent chance to annex a title. He has a great chance against either the chinny Sam Peter or the slow, but incredibly tough and determined Oleg Maskaev.
as much as i hate golota (for the obvious reasons), i was impressed with his physical state for a 40 year old. guess that mental medecine the shrinks in the nuthouse force down is throat has a "fountain of youth" effect. hey, whatever works.
yeah my mistake, the former kickboxer guy whose over 40 himself. if that guy can give chagaev a good fight, golota will be allright.
Chagaev has good skills and chin and I don't see Golota landing many clean shots on him. Chagaev outworks him and possibly stops him.
Look fight: Bowe - Golota Byrd - Golota Ruiz -Golota disqualification, draw, defeat, but in this fights Golota is better and should be wins. Brewster crash Golota , Grant KO Golota.. For me Golota looses only this 2 fight. Now he`s 40 but he`s back <Bates-McBride-Mollo> Golota is now beter <experience, physical, mental> and now is Golota time for Champ. Golota destroy Chagaev. http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=ZObZmzvy-oA
