This. Especially in the second bout, Bowe was out on his feet for rounds
and rounds. Golota saw that he simply could not put Golota away.
Bowe did not have the eye of the tiger( forgive me) in the second fight.
He showed up fat and unprepared relying only on his heart and will.
Shame because Golota had the skills, just not the temperament.

Golota simply never wanted to be a fighter and it showed when he mentally crumbled in both fights. After winning bronze at the Olympics he chose not to turn pro and wanted to be a truck driver. But boxing was more lucrative an easier route for Golota to take at that time.

Some fighters when the going gets tough quit like Tor Hamer, some like Golota will foul his way out. While he was dominant in both Bowe fights he was still getting hit with some hurtful shots and was getting frustrated that he couldn't finish Bowe.

Golota may have been a nut job in the ring and sometimes out of it but he gave us 2 great fights with Bowe that will be remembered for the good and the bad.

Yes, people often forget that it was a very tough fight for Golota as well. Although he didn't take as much punishment as Bowe, Golota was cut both around the eye area and also the lip I believe.

He may have been hurt by that big counter right hand about a minute earlier, that Bowe landed while in the corner.

Golota was looking for a way out.

The first fight though, he was winning even easier. Just a headcase.

Who knows why that clown snapped. He had heavy hands and boxing skills and did everything I wanted him to do to beat Bowe and he pulled this stunt twice. He deserved to be bebopped with that walkie talkie, lmao.

    Golota didn't listen.

The reason for the low blows was in retaliation for the rabbit punches that dope Bowe was throwing. Ref Wayne Kelly said nothing about them, so Golota took matters into his own hands.

    Thats what happened.

The 2nd fight was just a complete war. Maybe Andrew just got tired in that one, but he still beat Bowe like he's never been beat before.

If Golota had the mental resolve of say, Adamek...AG would have been Champ for some time.

    :deal

Where's Rum's??? I'd like to hear his take on what happened...

Bowe took a horrendous beating in the rematch. From around the 5th or 6th round on, I was worried that the fight would end in Bowe's death.

Bowe was going to put Golota away in the first fight. He was wearing him down , wearing him down. Golota knew it and threw in the towel.

The first fight was competitive. The second was a travesty- for Bowe.

Bowe was out of shape for the first fight, he had lost way too much weight for the rematch. He looked totally drained during their bout.
