    From ESPN:

Golota, who was scheduled to fight Mike Tyson conqueror Kevin McBride on the undercard, is the likely candidate to face Peter if the card stays afloat.

"The deal is done. All it's pending is WBC approval," Ivaylo Gotzev, Peter's manager, said of Golota. "It comes down to the WBC and if they are going to sanction it."

 Anyone else see a replay of Golota-Brewster in this one!?! Come on..it's gotta be Virchis or Mccall

Don King strikes again :yep I'm far from a Peter fan, but he would just steamroll Golota. Golota just doesn't have the mental game to compete at this level until proven otherwise.

The only reason golota gets this fight is because of his name, its a shame fighters that deserve a chance like Mccall wont get the opertunity to prove himself. For the sake of heavywieght boxing I hope it turns out to be a good fight, but if Golota gets blown out in the first round again Im going to be pissed.

:yep he is dead set horrible - he would hit peter with 15 low blows and then quit on his stool after getting tagged once

Mccall certainly deserves it more than Golota since he fought in an eliminator but I wonder how much he has left. He pretty much took the Briggs/Rahman route to a title shot, but I guess that's commonplace nowadays. I feel Peter's youth and activity would be a bit too much to overcome and he would lose 8-4ish to Peter.

IMO, The best fight that could be made is with Virchis. Supposedly, he has a great chin and a big punch and he gave Chagaev all he could handle and beat Sprott. That fight might be better than Maskaev-Peter would have been.

Its obvious people want to see Mccall fight Peter, give the boxing fans what they want for a change. As aunt already stated I will accept this match over nothing as do I, its like asking for steak and getting a hamburger, yeah you will eat it but its not what you want.

I have to say, Id rather see Ruiz against Peter... Golata, in my opinion, wouldn't offer anything to Peter...nothing to learn from. With Ruiz at least he would have to be able to get through the clinching and find a way to get to Ruiz. I see Golata quitting or having a meltdown in the ring.

Golota to win via SD. Keeps the rabbit puncher at the end of a long jab. Peter's lack of boxing skill catches up to him.

    Or

Gets splattered in Rd 1. One or the other..............

I agree with this assesment. Golota has fought with many top dogs in the division, over the last 12 years and has given a good account of himself in approximatly half of those fights. There is also the intrigue factor, because you never know what he will bring on any given fight - a surpsingly skilled and patient albeit unfocused fighter OR an anxiety stricken deer cought in the headlights. This question mark alone is why he is potentially a vastly better (although at this point less deserving) replacement than any of the other bench warmers.

golota is soooo slow now, robotic, no fluid movement left. his defence is really bad, he is just waiting to get hit by a wild hook. if peter-golota really happens it's gonna look a lot like brewster-golota. BTW what has golota done to get a title shot, besides getting ktfo by brewster in 53 seconds and beating two bums? mccall on the other hand got himself together, he is very limited, but he has done everything he could to get another title shot.
