Golota's best win?

In terms of quality of opposition?

In recent years, the only name that jumps to mind as someone with a better resume is Holyfield.

-While Golota can, can, be entertaining sometimes, sometimes, I do not think he has anything remotely close to the mental toughness of a champion. If he had won the title at any point during his career (and he has a had plenty of opportunities, and will probably see more), his psychological inconsistency would have garuanteed a short reign.

I sincerely apologize, I have no reading comp. I thought you were talking about Lewis/Golota...which many, many people believed was the face off of the two best heavies on the planet.

That Golota and Bowe WERE the two best heavyweights at the time, and that the this fact is often dismissed because of what happened afterwards.

Too convenient!

It neglects the fact that when the two best heavyweights on the planet were doing battle, Lewis faced a hugger and a cryer, keeping him fresh, whereas, Bowe and Golota essentially ENDED each other's run at the top in two brutalizing wars.

You don't have to agree with my beliefs on this matter, but to me, anyone who dismisses Golota or Bowe based on Lewis-Golota just doesn't get it!

OK,

I am willing to accept (for the sake of your argument) that Bowe and Golota 'ruined' each other: therefore, anything that happened after that fight should not be considered.

So,

When you say that Bowe and Golota were the two best heavyweights on the planet when they faced eachother (7/11/1996), what are you basing this on?
