He has a concussion, broken neck, broken orbital bone from just a few punches landed in 2 rounds. He asked his trainer to stop the fight after round 1 and they would. Tyson was not going to gas in 3 rounds, he went 8 with Lewis a couple years later and went 8 rounds with Neilsen right around this time as well...

Golota probably would have had permanent injuries if he had went back out there.

My point is that you don't have a clue what his injuries were at the time but he did. Had he fought on he could have been in a similar situation to McClellen. So how is one of them gutless but the other isn't? Does a fighter have to end up deaf, blind and in a wheelchair in order to not be gutless?

    Get a clue kid!

As others have said... Golota took many flush shots from a guy who has been known to have just a little bit or power. It's not like he didn't get hit and quit or fouled out this time... He knows he was severely hurt and made the call pull out on his own. Now... I will say...It's easy to understand how people at that time might have thought this was just another case of him quitting but in retrospect, he did the right thing because he sustained some serious injuries (as was later proven).

Al Certo was a disgrace in this fight. It's one thing to motivate your fighter and give him words of encouragement ... It's an entirely different thing to demand that your fighter go out and continue to fight when he's the one taking the punishment and risking his life.

It must have been frustrating as all hell because Golota definitely could have won this fight if he was able to hang around for a little while longer.

I really hope someone decides to eventually do a documentary on Golota or he writes a book or something of that nature because the fact of the matter is.... say whatever you want about him... He was one crazy unpredictable guy and any film, book, or anything about him would be entertaining as ****!!!

That was messed up. He was taking punches from someone like Tyson, he was floored and hit with repeated overhand rights. If he wanted to stop fighting to preserve his health, why not? The crowd pelting him with drinks and food was terrible, and the commentator was also ridiculous when he said:

"An outrageous display of cowardice by Andrew Golota."

Right. He's the one getting hurt and risking permanent brain damage, not you.

:patschTyson was shot, inactive, out of shape, coming back from an injury and pushing 40 when he fought McBride, while he he wasn't his peak here he was still active and in shape, the only thing Golota would've done is get seriously hurt.
No he didn't, this version of Tyson is much more similar to what Holyfield fought as opposed to the Tyson that fought Nielson, Lewis, Williams and McBride, Golota was getting his ass kicked and if he continued he was going to get ****ed up.

    Golota has undiagnosed mental issues

probably due to his culture, he is too ashamed of having the stigma of being a ******

Despite being older, heavier and in MUCH WORSE shape while being completely dominated he was still throwing hard shots at the end of the Lewis fight.

People look at the fights with Williams and McBride and think he was always that bad, the truth is he didn't get terrible until the Neilson fight, where he hurt his back and got fat.
