He's being honest, not wholly though imo.
He'll retire if he gets convincingly or fairly beaten by Canelo. Not if he beats Canelo though imo or if its a controversial decision.
I'd do the same, where would he go if he got fairly beat by Canelo?

He should beat BJS, beat Hopkins' record, THEN retire.

I'd die if he retired after beating Canelo. Canelo would light up like a Christmas tree in anger.

I think that's what he will do sometimes Golovkin has trouble expressing himself in English ......... I think what he meant here is he COULD retire after the canelo fight and I wouldn't mind if he did.

I would like to see him knock out canelo and then chase saunders and unify then call it a day

What i think will happen is if Golovkin knocks out canelo he will have to fight him again canelo out of pride will enforce his rematch clause so this might mean Golovkin might not fight saunders this year.

Quit reading too much into this. It's just a smarter comment on ppl. needing to watch this PPV over Flonnor. If he communicates this might be his last, anyone with the slightest interest in him will have no choice but to buy or risk not watching GGG ever again. That's actually a chapter out of Floyd's "my last fight" book.

That retirement BS is just to get Canelo into thinking that he has a weaker opponent on the verge of old age in front of him.

GGG may be a different cat than we are used to. He doesn't deny growing old or that everyone- including himself- can be beaten. I would like him to pursue BJS if he beats Canelo, but as noted here, he could have to face Canelo again. As a fan of boxing I would like to see every fighter face their optimum opponents, but I don't walk around in their skins. He has the right to do whatever suits him best.

He may not be a guy who jokes when he speaks about retiring. We've all seen scads of "retirements" from fighters in the past. Maybe his thinking about it is plain common sense. I have enjoyed watching him and will continue to for as long as he is around.

:sisi1 i wonder what it feels like, to be proven without a doubt, in clear black and white, that you are completely full of chit. do you just ignore it and pretend it never happened? do you disappear and come back with an alt? i say hes so used to it that it doesnt even register anymore.

Makes you wonder if he wasn't injured in training for Jacobs and is just taking the Canelo fight to cash out.

Villie, why does it even enter your small cranium what another Man earns at his Job? Do you think he will give you some ? Are you just a nosey little sod? or are in Awe as you are on minimum wage & and looking up to a immigrant to USA & who is a Ultimate achiever, unlike your good self, irks you as he has managed to earn & achieve far & above anything you could earn?
