if you agree to something, then complain about said agreement, it comes across like crying, in dealings between men.
i also want to see ggg vs canelo, but i dont see a villain or a hero in this match up. both are looking out for their best interests, as both have made contradictory statements as to what they can and cant do. the time to oppose the waiting period, was when the waiting period was proposed, not after youve agreed to let them move forward.

    how would you know that
155 should be easier for bumlovkin anyway
whats triple duck waiting for? the fight would be signed already if he had accepted 155

As a fan of the sport, as opposed to a fan of either particular fighter in this matchup, it's this simple. Gennady Golovkin is the IBF and WBA midddleweight champ. Canelo Alvarez is the WBC middleweight champ. The middleweight limit is 160 lbs. There is NO reason whatsoever for anyone to even contemplate the idea of this fight taking place at anything other than the championship weight. None.

If Canelo really considers that his body "isn't ready for 160" then he needs to get off the pot, vacate his belt so the real middleweights can fight for it and go back to 154. However, such a statement is clearly nonsensical. Alvarez routinely comes to the ring at 170-172, which is much heavier than 160 so I'm not sure how anyone can say with a straight face that his body isn't ready to fight at 160. All it would mean is that he doesn't have to drag himself down a further 5 pounds by draining water weight before putting it all straight back on again. Surely that's a much more desirable outcome for all concerned, right?

if canelo is in fact trying to make it look like ggg is the one who wants to wait, then ggg is justified in setting the record straight. although, canelo saying he will fight anyone, anytime, is hardly justification. just like ggg saying he would come down to 154 for floyd, is hardly justification for expecting him to agree to 155 vs canelo.

GGG aint gotta accept a damn thing,he is the middleweight champion and if Canelo wants to be the man he has to go through GGG

Yeah it sucks, K2 really dropped the ball on that one, they have no room to complain.

It's very clear that landing the Canelo fight is more important for GGG and K2 than just taking the belt, so there's no point in arguing or complaining about it.

ggg could have enforced his mandatory status, or moved on to another pay day, but he didnt. he chose to negotiate that right for some other form of deal with gbp. what exactly is hard to understand about that? the man made an agreement and theres no need for his cyber-attorneys to come in and argue his case... hes a big boy.

You are correct, of course. But you have to admit, though, that as far as cyber-attorneys go, Barcham's as good as they come.

come on man, fighters always say stuff like that and then proceed to get everything they can in their favor. it would be irresponsible not to. it doesnt look like canelo is going to vacate, so he is obviously planning on fighting ggg.
because canelo brings exposure, big payday, legacy and the shortest route to legitimacy, his team expects ggg to offer something worth as much from ggg.
i think the best deal for ggg would be to agree to 157 with a rematch clause (should it be needed) to fight at 160. the potential for future earnings outweighs the concessions he would be making now.
