In every Golovkin's thread there is mention of Andre Ward, talk about obsession, certain people can't let go the myth about GGG "ducking" him...

 

its no myth...they point blank said they weren't interested...not only did they say " were fighting Lemieux"...but they didn't say "were fighting Lemieux in October...maybe in april or march of 2016 we could do something"

they said flat out..."no thanks...maybe in 2017 it might be possible...at 164(you know when ward would be long gone to 175)"....

not even a glimmer of hope...not even a maybe....just a "see ya no thanks" from k2 and lil g

Golovkin fought in a unification fight against Lemieux and what was Ward doing?

Oh yes dragging a career middleweight who wasn't even top 5 in his own country, up to light heavyweight.

Ward only has him self to blame for his career post super 6, but finally he's getting it back on track.

 

Eh no, you are clearly misinformed... Firs of all, there was NEVER an offer from Team GGG for 164, it was talked only by Sanchez and Loeffler, between them, not with Ward...

Second, Golovkin at the time had his schedule full, not only the unification bout with Lemieux, but also an agreement with winner of Cotto-Canelo for 2016...

Third, Ward last fought at 168 in 2013, since then he started to move back to his natural division at 175, didn't want or couldn't make 168 anymore, and his trainer Hunter has been clear, no move back once settled at LHW...

Fourth, Ward's bogus offer was sent AFTER the unification bout with Lemieux was announced, for 168 with LOCKED purse split of 50-50, for a POSSIBLE fight in late 2016, after various tune-ups for Ward, little details often forgotten... Seriously, Golovkin should have thrown away unification bouts and an entire year waiting for Ward? Really?

It was an impossible fight to make at that time, that's it, no one ducked no one, Ward should just stop using Golovkin's name for self-promotion...

what I quoted was a statement made by loeffler in which he said "maybe in 2017 it might be possible...but it would have to be at 164"....which he def said...and I can find you the article if youd like or choose not to believe me

the offer by ward wasn't sent after anything with Lemieux was announced...the offer was sent after k2 had committed to fighting Lemieux....but ward as unaware of this....as it wasn't officially announced yet....it is you who is misinformed

its funny you say ward needed "various tuneups"...because ive heard several use the excuse "you expect ggg to move up and fight the best in his division right off the bat"...implying lil g would indeed need 168 tuneups as well.....

According to Abel Sanchez GGG is better suited for 168. It's a shame they only admitted this after Ward leaves the division. :think

Ward also wanted Mayweather at 160 and Martinez at 164, so why not Golovkin hypotetically?

the Lemieux fight wasn't announced when ward had sent an email...even if it was...for arguments sake...why couldn't they have set something up for 2016? that Lemieux fight was "done" in sept of 2015...

has Floyd ever fought, sent a contract to a 160 fighter or even said he might? nope....ward saying hed fight Floyd was pure fantasy talk because Floyd would never fight at 160
