Increased punch resistance? More punch power?

His gas tank to empty quicker?

What can we expect? Can he knock Canelo out at 168?

I am not too much of a conspiracy theorist, but I have thought all along that a trilogy was agreed to after the first fight- and that Golovkin was along for the financial ride. I also thought he was going easy on Canello in their 2nd fight. Last piece of advanced planning was acting hurt and winded in his last fight. This to guarantee that he was no longer a threat and thus would be able to get into the ring with Canello before he requires actual canes to get around...

And if he does, I believe there will be no more "fake" drama show. IMO Golovkin boxes him during the first half of the fight then lets loose with the heavy shots that I missed in the first two fights. I believe that Canello will be beat up.

Since we now know that Canelo's JFH team spots him exactly 4 rounds I cannot guarantee a GGG decision, but there will be no doubt about the victor.

It's nice to be back. I have been gone for a couple of years.

So GGG loses another decision, you'll cry robbery then whine about it and never get over it? Can't wait.

We could see the same problems with GGG at 168 that Canelo experienced at 175. More winded, slower handspeed, less gas tank. But we can't overlook GGG here because he'll be super motivated to avenge the loss that he's been bitter about for 4 years. You can't underestimate how motivated GGG will be to avenge that loss. We saw what motivation can do based on what happened to Amir Khan at the hands of Kell Brook. Khan was overconfident and Kell put it on him. The worry for Canelo, especially after coming off the Bivol loss, is that I don't think he'll be that motivated to fight GGG again because it's a high risk, low reward fight for him.

What drives Canelo is new bigger challenges. He's already beaten GGG and if he beats him again people won't give him much credit they'll say GGG was old and that he was expected to win. But for GGG, a win validates his career, that's why his fans are so desperate for it. Now that Canelo has lost, his fans might think this is the perfect time to pounce on Canelo coming off a loss and try to give him his 2nd loss in a row, but it could backfire as Canelo at 168 has been very dominant at his weight and the loss to Bivol at 175 really doesn't have anything to the GGG fight at 168 only that Canelo doesn't have momentum right now. It is a fascinating matchup for these reasons and I would love to see it, but it's definitely a dangerous fight for Canelo to take given how motivated GGG would be looking for redemption.

A more relaxed GGG. He could potentially revitalize his career somewhat like Donaire.

He’s already visibly slower at 160 and I would expect him to be even slower at 168. The guy is 40 and can still bang but he takes a lot more punishment and is in the final stage of his career. Canelo might get his first legit win over GGG this time. Third time is the charm.

I don’t think he will get KOd and his endurance is still pretty good. I don’t think the extra weight is going to change this but anything is possible. Father Time is undefeated and GGG is showing the affects. He’s still good enough to make it interesting and he still has power. I hope the last fight with Canelo is a Hearns-Hagler style war. Go out with a bang and give the fans a historic show.

A slower, easier to hit fighter. He was struggling at times last time out. The gas tank isn't there anymore.
At 168 he probably gets stopped by someone with a bit of pop. IF he slow right down his punch power might reduce a touch as well.
He's got maybe 2 fights left before he's a ghost.

Golovkin might be stronger with him not having to cut weight to make 160

I think we see him a lot like in the Murata fight. Slower but tanky. His stamina still seems to be there, so if I were him, I'd turn up the gas and turn it into a mauling, brawling affair with lots of inside work to rob Canelo of his powerful long range punches. Drain Canelo's tank to E and beat him to death in the mud of the Somme.

A dominant canelo win. That's what we can expect.

Explain this to me: If Canelo rehydrates to about 180lbs after he cuts to 168lbs, wouldn't he weigh the same if he cuts to 175lbs and rehydrates to 180lbs again? What is the difference? 168lbs or 175lbs, it doesnt really matter what weight, his fight night weight would be about the same in both instances right? How can we say that his stamina would get worse at 175lbs?

His speed and gas tank is affected, by carrying around the extra weight during fight week. By being forced to make 168, his body isn't carrying around extra weight throughout the camp and during fight week so he's not as sluggish. He's also not concentrating on his power as much, when he fights at 175 he does different drills which focus on punch power instead of focusing on his speed and conditioning. You are assuming he has the same fight weight after rehydrating, we don't know that, he's probably a couple pounds more in the ring when fighting at 175 because he's weighing in at a much higher weight. It's pretty apparent that Canelo looked much slower against Kovalev as well. For whatever reason, when he's fought at 175 he hasn't had the same speed or gas tank at 175, which is ironic because many people accused him of not having a gas tank when he was draining himself at lower weights. There seems to be a sweet spot in terms of weight that Canelo is at his best as far as speed and stamina, which would seem to be when he fights at 168.
