Money money money. This is a good fight don't get me wrong, but they are doing this for British exposure. This is the next step in building triple G as a global star. Think about it. One big win in England gets the buzz going and his name in the papers. Maybe he even fights Eubank or BJS as well after so his name becomes a household name. Sometime next year he beats Canelo in the United States. Now you have the biggest name in boxing, with international appeal, and a new Pac/May good boy star is born. ESPN will love his smile and personality, they will get him in the studio, and he will be getting eye ****ed through the tv by your girlfriend before 2018.

Who on earth has told him to pile on weight,he's fighting Golvkin so putting on extra pounds is not gonna stop GGGs power,he'd be better served getting down to 165 like Golovkin is at 30 day weigh in?

The ONE thing I get/got out of this entire thing is that it's pretty obvious that Brook was looking for a way out of 147lbs because he couldn't make it anymore.

It's fugged up he held that IBF hostage tho.

Agreed, though jumping two weight classes to take on the kingpin isn't the wisest move. This fight is interesting on many different levels so there's no denying the attraction. Unfortunately, unless Brook has improved his durability he won't last long in this fight even if he's putting on an impressive boxing performance. I haven't made an official prediction but I'm certainly leaning towards GGG. If in fact GGG wins its hard to rate the accomplishment that much higher then say the Lemuix win....I'd put it slightly above because of name recognition. Still a "very watchable" event.

He made weight and defended that belt less than 6 months ago.

OP is doing a lot of rationalizing. It's not a close match up at all, on paper. GGG may not the biggest MW. But, he is a true MW...unlike Martinez was. He is most certainly the hardest puncher, to use a Team GGG phrase, "from 147-168." And he has legitimate skills.

Brook is a big WW. And a good one at that. But, he hasn't seen any competition at 154 nevermind 160. His best win at WW is against a natural WW. Porter is a strong one no doubt, whom he had to work hard to keep off him. And Brook hasn't had a competitive fight at WW since...just milking that belt. I seriously doubt he is prepared for this.

Good luck to both men. But, if this is anything but a one sided beat down for GGG...people need to stop overrating him. If Brook loses, he really loses nothing, except maybe years off his career. He can go back down to WW and keep doing what he was doing.

I'm not sure it matters how big Brook is. He could be a natural MW for all I care. What matters to me is that he's totally unaccustomed to fighting 160 fighters, or even 154 fighters.

I think will say more about the skill of Brook than it will make GGG look worse. GGG is a proven talent and has been doing amazing things in the ring.

He has been doing amazing things. But, he hasn't really done them against anyone with real talent. Brook, skill wise, is his best opponent yet. And he is in the wrong weight class. GGG has all the advantages here. If Brook makes this competitive for 12 rds or wins, GGG is not who we thought he was.

Huge misconception here, kell has not put any weight on. He is just bringing his weight down from where he started camp. They are doing it slowly too which is the best way. I would assume around fight week he will be late 160's... the water cut to around 158/159.

You cannot 'pile' on weight in such a short space of time, its impossible unless its just fat weight which is useless. Look at his physique, this isn't a guy eating into this weight class, he can make middle comfortably and be in good shape.

The 176lbs thing is probabably overblown too, what time did they do this weigh in? If it was in the evening he'd probably had 3/4 meals already and was fully hydrated. If so he'd probably more like to be early 170's right now without food in him.

im not sure about brook being the most skilled boxer ggg has faced, but everything else i agree. if ggg cant put brook away in 12 rds, canelos chances jump way up... imo. i cant reason a way to see brook winning.

I will say this, I don't think Brook will win because the size will get to him eventually, but I think he's good enough that he'll remove a lot of Golovkin's aura of invincibility.

Brook will win the event basically, then all the haters will be saying 'no winder GGG ducked Lara and Ward', even though they know deep down he didn't.

That's a good point. I should have thought of that. It's just that the idea of a WW weighing that much normally was so absurd to me that I thought he HAD to have gained quite a bit. Factor that in with Brook's comment about constantly eating and Brook looking...let's say pudgy, and I just had to assume that Brook was going out of his weigh to put on a lot of weight in short time. ...Only to drain his body for the weigh in and then rehydrate back. By the way, this fight does have a rehydration clause, right? I think I heard that it did somewhere, but I don't think I ever bothered to check and see if that was confirmed.
