    seen

He says that's why it has so much interests now you cant say a 28-32 golovkin is the same as a 35 year old now it would of been a whitewash

But imagine even at Golovkin stage he makes Canelo look like nothing?

If you weren't a fan of either, you'd be hard pushed to give Canelo a chance with current level he's at and GGG 3/4 yrs ago. Any casual observer would see the difference and ring generalship between the two ! Canelo gets trounced in the past, GGG tiring in all areas now imo

    Golovkin is ALWAYS like this.

"Oh yeah, greatest challenge ever. This guy is tough, respect." ... and he's like talking about Dom Wade.

Meanwhile inside, he's eyeing Canelo like a piece of meat.

I am not convinced Golovkin is on the slide yet despite his 35 years, I expect he wins the fight by knockout but expect Canelo to really turn up and make it a war. Leather will land, blood will be shed and eventually Alvarez will fall or his corner pulls him out.

I hope for one thing, during the afterfight presser while Canelo is en route to his mandatory MRI screening in the next clinic, I hope GGG says "Canelo, you know, he's good boy"

Build him up high and knock him down hard.
GGG seems to get it all figured out.

I hope he is right, the more its true the better fight we are guna get. But i dont believe him and i also doubt he believes it himelf. He is guna roll over and crush Canelo, the only question i have about the fight is will Golovkin drag the fight out a bit or will he just demolish Canelo by the 5th.

Triple G is just being realistic, he knows the Canelo who steps in the ring in September will be a different proposition to the 20 year old he shoved around in sparring. Then again, GGG himself is older, wiser and much more experienced at world level. Great fight.

Lol exactly. I understand why he's doing that, it sells the fight, it's also respectful but " Canelo is the biggest puncher I've faced, yeah!" when he just faced Lemieux and Jacobs (who I would both favor to win against Canelo) is just plain funny.

But I do agree the fight is more even now that Canelo has grown and Golovkin's aged, but how much of a difference will it really makes? I really don't know. I still favor Golovkin to win. You need athletism to beat GGG and Canelo is not that kind of boxer, but if it goes to the scorecards and the rounds are close (or not) and can see Canelo bagging rounds. If I were him I would try to outbox Canelo for a couple of rounds and go for the KO in round 6-7 to make a statement.

absolutely right--it's honestly a joke at this point for anyone keeping score--easily a reddit meme.

with maybe one or two exceptions in his last 10 fights, has GGG not said of his opponent something like "biggest challenge ever for me"?

probably what happened was that about 10 or so fights ago, a reporter was interviewing GGG about his next fight and GGG gave his honest assessment "i am like great white shark, he's like small tuna, i'm hungry so i will eat him then go home"--not bragging by any means, just informing everyone how it plays out

Loeffler probably put a stop to that real quick and had GGG rehearse these humble little media phrases--so that people will still pay to see the fight and so that his opponent will still show up on fight day.

the other thing i notice in GGG's interviews about his upcoming fights, is that, while he is remarkably respectful of his opponent, their skils and experience, etc, he rarely refers to them by name--he actually just says "my opponent", like he doesn't know or care who it is at any given time.
