Golovkin-Canelo is still a mismatch, Jacobs was just too big!

Man, people are drawing too much from Golovkin-Jacobs. Jacobs cheated, did not follow the proper protocol for the weight in, and was still beaten and knocked down! Beyond that, it made Golovkin look great. He took out a much heavier and faster fighter and just tooled him.

Imagine what Golovkin will do to someone who is his same weight if not less. Canelo is going to get tooled, styles make fights. Golovkin faced a much bigger knock out artist and still knocked him down and cruised to a decision victory.

Mark my words, Golovkin will pulverize CANELO. Bump this thread after the fight in September.

You went just a little too far. Jacobs didn't really cheat, the weigh in was his choice and felt he needed some extra hydration time. Yes, ggg clearly beat jacobs but still a tough fight. Had very little to do with the weight. Had everything to do with the height, reach and power of jacobs.

I see where you're coming from, because canelo is lacking in all 3 of those attributes but his talent, speed and counter punching ability presents entirely different problems. just as big problems, possibly

And not only that Jacobs would probably beat Canelo. I do not see Canelo beating Jacobs at all. While GGG would smash that version of Chavez last night in 3 rounds

It wasn't fair with missing the weight, not sportsmanlike imo. It gave him more time hydration time and that doesn't sit right with me unless its for both boxers or ggg new in advance, give him the option also !

Jacobs is a better fighter than many anticipated. People were so used to insulting boxers from 160 to make GGG look bad that they discounted one of the elites at the weight. I've watched Jacobs for years and knew he was an elite operator, so his performance didn't surprise me (although his chin did).

Jacobs at his best could probably beat both Canelo and Triple G, but he'd have to fight a near perfect fight to do that. I think Jacobs though would have a difficult time stopping Canelo. I mean Jacobs has a significant reach advantage over Canelo. Jacobs could win rounds vs Canelo by jabbing him, then again Canelo has more head movement than Triple G, so I could see Canelo still slipping some of those jabs, but Jacobs could definetly control the range from the outside on the smaller Canelo like he did at times vs Triple G.

I could see Canelo vs Jacobs playing out similarly to Triple G vs Jacobs, only with more head movement from Canelo and with Canelo throwing more combinations than Triple G did. I don't think Jacobs would be able to land as many straight right hands on Canelo like he did on Triple G because Canelo is a smaller target. But due to the size and reach advantage Jacobs would have, it would be a very difficult fight for Canelo. In comparison, Canelo and Triple G match up much closer to each other size and reach wise than they do to Jacobs. Triple G is slightly taller than Canelo, but still they match up quite well to each other. Triple G also has a bigger head and honestly I feel that Triple G is really gonna need to tighten up his guard or else Canelo is gonna use that head as target practice all night.
