Head getting turned does not equate to getting rocked. Also, if that the shot I think it is, then it's the huge one Canelo threw from low, which GGG very effectively rolled with. Had he not, then he may very well have ended up actually 'rocked'

There were several punches from Canelo that could be described as GGG getting rocked. To your point though, usually getting rocked involved getting hit with a punch that surprises you that you weren't prepared for, that weren't rolling with, etc. I'd point to the uppercuts in rounds 6 and 8 as punches like that, that GGG walked into without anticipating, that impacted him heavily. The reporter from the other day said to Canelo that he rocked GGG so frankly those who take exception to the word "rocked" sound like they are defending Golovkin.

I think you would agree though that if anyone got rocked in the first fight, it was Golovkin, not Canelo.

I would say someone is rocked when you can see there legs stiffen and they look a little unsteady briefly. No fighter had that. Canelo stumbled from a jab in the 8th but I think that was more footing than anything.

So I would argue that neither fighter was rocked and the idea I'm only taking exception to the term rocked to defend Golovkin is absolutely incorrect.

I don't remember Canelo having a stumble , but Golovkin definitely stumbled here after taking a left hook right hand.

I'm a huge GGG fan but can tell you that statement is certified 100% crock of ****. If you are in a closely contested fight and youre opponent bangs like a ***** -- at some point in the second half of the fight you say "**** it" and just try and walk down and take out youre opponent. 100% that is what any top fighter would do in a close fight against a ***** slapper. I mean it's literally written in the "boxing: how to" manual.

GGG fought cautiously all 12 rounds and kept his hands on top of his chin at all times when they weren't being thrown for a reason. Words are just words, they are currency backed by nothing, there is no substance to them so people lie. Actions are the only fully fledged and backed currency humans can look at for truth. But lets be real, ginger boy better have been throwing TNT considering he was on enough steroids for 12 people let alone one.

I'm sure hes just trying to psych ginger out before the rematch. If you actually believe that statement -- it me up I got a bunch of **** to sell you, and I mean a BUNCH -- bridges, beachfront property in Kansas, etc. etc.

You can see Canelo's left arm parrying is what knocks him off balance here. I will try to find the clip of the Canelo one but I am quite sure it's just his footing that goes from a slip if anything

In this video at the 9 minute mark (I time stamped it) a media member said "in the first fight you rocked Golovkin with a good shot".

Take a look and have a listen. He went on to say "it's probably the most hurt we've seen Golovkin". Is that guy just making all that up?

cool story bro. see timp stamped video above at 9 minute mark. media member asking a question to Canelo says "in the first fight you rocked Golovkin with a good shot, it's probably the most hurt we've seen Golovkin".

Uh oh, how you gonna explain that one tough guy? Did the guy who said that also invent a whole alternative fight too?

There was a reason GGG was so reluctant to throw and to come forward as he has in past fights and it's not all due to his age. Canelo showed a lot of movement and skill and Golovkin knew if he wasn't careful, he'd get caught with some big uppercut counters. There's no other reason he would lead Canelo to the ropes as often as he did and fail to really open up considering that's one of his key gameplans in every fight. I'm a huge fan of GGG, but as others have said, I think his best years are behind him.

Or he's mistaken. It could be either.

For reference, the closest I've seen GGG to looking actually rocked was against some journeyman early in his career. Bouadla, I think.
