Its only a travesty if Canelo doesn't move up but its ok for GGG:huh

GGG is primed for SMW. He has the power of a LHW.

Trinidad wasn't a middle but he went up there and whopped some ass anyway.

This GG bum show has run its course. Its boring now to anybody outside Monster Knockout fans on Extreme sport.
And to make matters worse he only calls out natural 140 and 147 pounders.
He's a bully boy. Pasting guys he knows are levels below. And wants no part of anybody at 168 despite saying he would fight everybody from 154 -168.

Been saying it over and over there are too many jumping the gun and saying he beats everyone or everyone except Ward at 168.

Against Proska he came in 168 , against Macklin he came in 170 , against Rubio he came in I think around 173, for his 30 day weigh in against Rubio he was at 165 but against MM he was around 172 for his 30 day weigh in. He didn't get weighed in on fight night against MM so that's all we have to go on but his weight has been trending upwards. Until he beats solid contenders at 168 I don't see him beating the top guys.

I'm also a fan, but I wasn't impressed by what I saw last night

Ward would put on a clinic against him
He'd get past DeGale (althought DeGale is a lot bigger), Froch fight is 50/50 imo

To be honest the only thing I saw from him against Monroe that was exceptional is how hard he hits. His timing, defence, head movement were fairly poor even compared to his previous fights. And fighters whose main attribute is their power tend to come unstuck at some point once they come acros quality opponents

I wouldn't say he "exposed" him as a fighter, he did expose several fairly gaping flaws though.

The problem he's gonna have is, what's he gonna do when he comes across a fighter who can outbox him without taking punishment (Ward), or someone who can stand and bang with him (Canelo)? Because GGG's leaky defence won't cut it against someone who also hits hard

Win or loose Canelo will put a whole lot of leather on Golovkin.

His power is ridiculous. That first knock down was insane.

Sweet please become advisors to Cotto, Lara, Canelo , Quillon etc so we can see them KTFO.

You will be doing boxing a big favor.

Once he moves up he may struggle a bit, not really tall or rangey considering some of the super middles. I also think Ward definatly outboxes him to a victory.

But at this weight with those in the division and those sort of coming up a weight i cant see anybody to beat him.

Did you catch the post fight where he said I am here and waiting For Cotto , Canelo , whoever and that he wants to unify. Ready RIGHT NOW.

When asked about Ward he said he respects and understands his position.... I assume he means about his being away for a bit and needing some come back fights.

Let Cotto / Canelo whoever step up and while he is doing his unification thing Ward can get back to form with a fight or 2 in the meantime.

Cool with me. Will be a great fight.

Golovkin destroys Cotto in under 6 rounds, Canelo will be little harder for GGG because Canelo has slightly better defence.

forgot Rubio who has been at or near the top of his division for 10yrs, and Rosado who nearly took the title away from Quillin in his last defense:good

Golovkin beats everyone from 154 to 175, nobody can get away from his power, he will catch and destroy.

Instead of watching Golovkin's upper body, watch his feet. That's where the magic is. His footwork is outstanding.

Munroe Jr is quite a slick southpaw who likes to stick and move. He was forced to abandon this after a couple of rounds because Golovkin cut off the ring too well.

A southpaw should move to his right after ducking under the jab so an orthodox fighter presents no danger and you have lead foot dominance. Munroe did this well. Problem was Golovkin was so perfect in his foot placement he moved straight into the space vacated by Munroe and pivoted whilst remaining inside the danger zone. This is very difficult and requires great footwork.

Watch Lara do the same move to Canelo. Because Canelo has nowhere near as good a footwork he was pivoting on the spot off balance and eating straight lefts whilst having nothing on his own shots.

Further to standing staright in fron of an opponent, watch his feet again. Golovkin positions his body at an agle with a half step to the side. this allows him to have full leverage and exposes his opponent, but his opponent is hitting an off centre target and can't get full leverage on their shots.

Further to that, Golovkin is a pressure fighter. Normally you neutralise them by use of a good jab. Golovkin aggressively counters off the jab (the first knockdown was as a result of Golovkin slipping a jab and countering with a hook). Brilliant strategy as the opponent knows the best way to beat a pressure fighter is the jab, but is getting countered off the jab, so stops throwing the jab. They end up in a cycle of not knowing what works and taking a beating.

As for his inside game, His ability to throw a punch and change it's angle mid trajectory is bizarre. Watch the Ishida fight. Golovkin throws left right uppercut, Ishida blocks them. Trap set. Golovkin throws an identical left right, then goes to throw an uppercut. Ishida pulls his head back, and the uppercut becomes a left hook when he has his chin in the air.
He felled Stevens and Macklin with the same routine. He established a pattern, then borke it unexpectadly and caught them with shots they weren't expecting.
