if, would, could, should we live in the real world, not fantasy land, and in the real world Ward has no drawing power, no fanbase, and constantly pays his opponents peanuts while he gets paid 2 mil per fight I'm not saying he's not skilled or talented, because he is, he just has no bargaining power to make big money fights, which he can thank himself for
like i said...couple years ago none of you fgts cared about fanbase, drawing power and all of that stuff now all of the sudden its top priority......transparent muthafukas for sure
In your opinion that's reality. Who cares anyways? GGG is medium sized middleweight and Ward is literally two weight classes above him and pursuing his agenda while GGG is attempting to unify the middleweight division with the Ward match in the future. It's a dead issue practically.
that is reality if you are in fact living in reality who cares? well i dont really care...but you said they wanted the froch fight because of the money...im simply saying that they wanted it for the money and because froch is ripe and flawed...if ward has frochs appeal they wouldnt take it because its a loss ward is 2 weight classes above? well now he is....but when ward was trying to get that fight he had yet to fight above 168...and ward has reigned there for 95 percent of his career...hes more 168 than 175 as we stand now i did think ggg was trying to unify...which is why he shouldnt be talking about 168 rights now...he should stay 160 and wait out the canelo situation until theres no choice to abandon hope on taht front....but of course...because degale isnt special and he thinks he can beat him hell entertain the idea like i said.....the ward/ggg situation is about ward being special and elite....top level...upper echelon.....not just about money.... ward match in the future for ggg? eh no...wont happen....it was going to it would have happened .....if ward goes up and beats kova you think theres any shot ggg fights him down the line? heck he wouldnt fight him a few months ago
yep, we all started following boxing yesterday and have no idea that boxing is always business first atsch learn to live with the facts of life: Golovkin is on a rising wave to s****om despite his age and promotional issues in his earlier pro career meanwhile, Ward is trying to rebuild himself after 3 failed lawsuits vs the man who literally took him to the top, and his doing a very average job with it (so far at least)
and a year from now ward with also have a lhw title and win over kova to add to his resume....and ggg will be fighting sebastian heiland on BAD lol
and you prob hope ggg is fighting heiland too.... he aint gettin that canelo fight=more of the same from the tomato squad
Can we please stop generalizing GGG fans as being Floyd haters or Pac fanboys? I'm a massive fan of both Floyd and GGG, but not high at all on Pac. There are many other posters out there like me (and you) who look at things objectively. They just don't seem to populate this forum very much. As for the thread topic. GGG has no one to blame but himself and his team for ever dropping the 164 comment, even if it wasn't an actual official offer. That alone has given ammo to all GGG haters to hang over his head until the fight happens, if ever. I don't think it was a duck though. For me, a duck is when a fighter comes out and clearly states they do not want to, or are not ready to fight someone else. OR, if an actual legit offer is made that appears beneficial to all parties, but then one fighter clearly prices himself out. There is no way GGG is actually afraid of Ward though. Were this fight to go down (and I certainly hope it does next year) you'd have to favor Ward even if we have't seen much of him recently.
it does suck to generalize...unfortunately the unbiased guys are far outnumbered by the trolls....so its just easier to lump them all together you are rarely going to see anyone come out and flat out admit to a duck...especially one with a growing fanbase and hbo support like ggg but the mention of 164 was pretty clear, if you read between the lines, that they didnt want it...it was their way of making sure ward knew they werent serious...the subtle duck is way more beneficial .....but k2 did say "were trying to unify right now...but maybe its possible in 2017"......so theres that my thing is....if thats what you wanna do then stay at 160 and wait out the canelo situation till you know it wont happen( i happen to think it wont happen).....until then i dont think you should be entertaining the idea of 168...it just makes you look worse in the eyes of those who already think you ducked ward.....but in reality that wont derail the ggg train...because everyone that supports him does so no matter what he says or does anyway
GGG wants to unify the division, who he fights for the belts is meaningless btw, the same Heiland beat one of Sergio Martinez's toughest fights during his MW reign
so why is he entertaining the idea of a fight with degale? does degale have some 160 lb belt i dont know about? basically ggg entertaining the idea of a degale fight goes agaisnt everything gggs fans have been arguing against in regards to the ward duck
again, a fight vs Degale in UK would sell huge regular HBO + UK PPV in front of 30K fans at West Ham stadium in London (the club owners said a few days ago they GGG to fight in their stadium) seems a much better offer for a jump to 168 than to fight someone who has no drawing power, no fanbase and has his promoter buy him air time on a third tier cable network
and you think ggg is going to be taking the lions share when its degales turf that gives the appeal? ya i forgot about degales huge appeal too! so much he was seen in boston fighting dirrell on nbc does degale hold a 160lb belt? will ggg be able to make it back to 160 ok after this or will that be too hard? lol
I guess GG's people think he's worth jumping to 168 for I personally would like to see GGG move up, PERMANENTLY, but only after he unifies the 160 division so he doesn't have to drop back down, but to each his own
