I don't understand that sentiment either.
He let off the gas some yeah, cause it was clear Murray could take one if it meant landing 2 of his own, so yeah, GGG adapted his offense some, but for the purpose of showing some respect to Murray defensively.
Murray bullied GGG in the clinch so fighting inside wasnt his best choice, and it was gonna take more than a bumsrush or a timed single shot to beat Martin.
Murray had in fact been robbed of KDs vs Martinez, thus robbing him of the lineal MW Championship proving both serviceable power and a solid beard, and had also clearly been robbed vs Sturm, where he'd proven his compersurate boxing skills by applying pressure and effectively counter punching.
Golovkin rightfully let off the gas some when he realized Murrays robberies were no flukes and realized he damned sure not need one himself.
There's no turning points in this fight, even though a rd here or there could be awarded Murray for intelligent and tough fighting, but aside from a close 2nd rd, you can't really point to moment where it appeared GGG could lose this fight. To us it looked like he was in complete command.
But this same Murray had clearly outworked, outlanded, outhustled, and outbanged Sturm, and made Sergio into a stationary target, pinning him in the corner, battering him and taking his best counters and shrugging em off to retake the corner.
Golovkin saw his superior footwork and handspeed advantage and used them to vary the torque on his shots causing Murray to be more defensive than could Sturm or Martinez.
When the end finally came, GGG has caught Martin with a perfect shot. Then merely applied the pressure til he fell again, and again until the ref called it.

How anyone could say GGG didnt give it his best is beyond me.
Just like when he'd imposed his jab over Lemiuex or outhooked Curtis Stevens.

10-40-0 fighters have better resumes than Golovkin.
Golovkin will be OK as long as K2 keeps over negotiating to death with all the good fighters, blocking them from exposing the hype.

Anthony of Thunderdome boxing was an actual boxer not like your cowardly ass. He has forgotten more about boxing than you will ever know and would hospitalize you with one jab.

Gennady Golovkin is The Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the World. The MAN @ 160 !! Where are the 160 contenders ? Why aren't they scrambling for a chance to fight The Champ?? Theyre backing off because none of them have the stones to get in the ring with Gennady. One excuse is $$$$$$$ but to get the $$$ you've got to EARN it. All they have to do is sign a contract, fight Gennady, beat him expose the hype & the world is their oyster Easy huh!! ?? Sadly there isn't one 160 fighter with the stones to try

Cast iron chin and dynamite in his hands. That's an unbeatable combination. He will NEVER be beaten.

K2 has avoided Golovkin taking tough fight for good reason.
Once a good fighter touches that glass chin, the gravy-train party is over.
Golovkin will probably call out Pacquaio next, and insist that he move to 160. When Pac refuses, Golovkin fans will say that Pac ducked Golovkin.
That's the whole K2 Golovkin strategy in a nutshell.

Gennady Golovkin's power, chin, footwork, ring presense, and dedication is exceptional no matter who he has fought!
Enough true boxing followers know this. Look at all the people Tyson still has people hanging off his nutsack, he fought bums. Nobody could beat Tyson in that short time frame and he had that ora , just like GGG.

Plain and simple from what we know, GGG will demolish anyone you put in front of him. So bring on anyone, and that is exactly how he feels. Unfortunately politics of boxing is not allowing the fights we want to happen.
