There are news articles out there saying GGG is looking at Zerafa for his next fight. My question is why is GGG taking such dangerous fights? First, he fought the dangerous Steve Rolls, then Szeremeta (less then 20% KO ratio), then Murata (hadn't fought in 2.5 years before their fight) what gives? Is this guy crazy to fight monster after monster?
with all the duckers out there wasting their primes, you want to go after a forty something for ducking?
Good fight for the state of Victoria following on from two Undisputed world championship fights there last year the first of which drew a state record crowd of 40,000. Zerafa is a local Victorian. A fight with GGG will be a big event. Presumably GGG is going where the money is. Also I think Zerafa is the mandatory. Zerafa UD.
GGG has been fighting the best for decades! Give him his props for taking this dangerous fight, if true.
Dudes 40 years old, maybe go after the people in their primes who are ducking each other. Edit - He also just came off fighting Canelo.
Just fought two champs in a row. Is coming off a loss. Even if he does choose to fight Zerafa, why not. Who are the young lions of middleweight fighting.
I sense sarcasm. But this comment is more true than not true. Considering he's faced the following In the amateurs: Matt Korobov, Gaydarbek Gaydarbekov, Marian Simion, Lucien Bute, Andre Dirrell x 2, Andy Lee , Damian Austin, Yordanis Despaigne, Daniel Geale, Oleg Mashkin in the pros: Canelo Alvarez x 2, Danny Jacobs, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Kell Brook, Martin Murray, David Lemieux, Matthew Macklin, Ryota Murata
Maybe because Khan, shot Chavez Jr., and the turk Eubank Jr KO'd in a one round were all unavailable? Also, Rocky Fielding wouldn't accept a hydration clause again after coming into the ring looking like Geale in the Cotto fight (Cotto the 157-159 catch-weight champion who ducked Golovkin to fight Geale, who Golovkin had recently KO'd without draining him to death). Hey, when is Canelo fighting Usyk and Beterbiev, because we're all waiting for those fights to be signed. Those guys are not turning down the payday, so where is the hold up? Weird how these mega-fights aren't being made after Canelo mentioned wanting them.
Age doesn't excuse him from fighting C level opponents. If you're gonna fight C level fighters then you might as well retire because you are insulting your fans at that point
Rolls came within a couple points of beating supermiddle weight top 15 Berlanga, and Murata is tough as hell.
I don't care if he's 100, he's the unified MW champion of the world, That being said, I'm not even mad at GGG. These are the kind of fights he's been fighting all of his career tbh.
