Golovkin: Fight w/ Ward would have to be at 164, IM A-Side (UCN Interview)

Only noobs think Ward has no power, he would have a lot more KO's on his record if he fought the bums Golovkin has been fighting. Golovkin may not fear that Ward will KO him but he is scared to lose his zero to SOG.

Beating top 10 Middleweights and former champions does not equate to BUMS. That word gets used too often. Andre Ward has no knock out power, he runs, hugs/clinches and repeats the same process over and over again. The man has a significant size advantage over GGG, a catch weight seems reasonable.

 

If Ward has fought on HBO, he'd easily do similar numbers. He averaged 1.2 million when he fought on HBO. He killed it with Dawson/Rodriguez.

BET just sucks for boxing and it's obvious.

Ward is LARGER than any of these Golovkin opponents, it would not surprise me that he could knock them out based on his size alone, BUT he showed nothing of that potential in his own weight class, and it does not signify that he would become a knock out artist in the 160 weight class :nut

Real boxing fans know Golovkin is the real deal, and asking for a catchweight is reasonable. You guys just want Golovkin to have a loss on his resume, which is why you want Ward to have all the advantages available

Ward goes back on HBO, and he easily does those big #'s again.

 

People act like Ward's fighting style is so appealing, nobody wants to watch someone run, clinch, potshot and hug for 12 rounds. Mayweather got away with it because he was annoying enough to have people pay to see him lose.
