Never understood what all the fuss was about him changing trainers, something almost every fighter does at least once in their careers for many reasons. Abel helped a lot with GGG's marketability, draw a lot of attention to him, made him attractive to casuals. But I've never seen major improvements in his game compared to his days in the amateurs. Especially in the Canelo rematch(which I thought was a draw), Canelo and his team were the ones who studied the first fight better, who came in better prepared and made the necessary adjustments between the 2 fights, whereas GGG made the adjutments as he went on during the fight.
I think Abel's a hugely overrated ***** so shed no tears for him getting chucked off the gravy train. Loeffler did his bit I guess but it's not like he made Golovkin is it? And having worked with Hearn on the Brook fight which was a substantial payday for him at the time I can see why he thinks he might be the man to get DAZN to pony up and force Canelo back in with him.
