Golovkin getting up from the canvas to knock out Canelo?

Does happen seemingly over-night. Younger folks who haven't experienced the nauseating phenomenon might find this hard to believe. But time will eventually reveal this to be true if they live long enough for the sudden drastic changes to being kicking in.

One moment you have full rotator cuff flexibility the next day you don't.

One day you can do squats without any knee discomfort and the next you experience a slight pain.

One day you can read printed writing without glasses and the next a blur sets in.

 

GGG couldnt knock out Jacobs but Pirog could. Is it a coincidence that Jacobs is his biggest test to date? Or are we to believe GGG just got old?

 

It could be a combination of both.

The knockout power of a punch is also dependent on exactly where it lands and if the opponent has seen it and had some time to roll with it or not. So it doesn't necessarily mean that Pirog hits harder than GGG.

 

Golovkin getting dropped would be a new experience for him. I think if Canelo lands accurately and hard enough to put him down once, he'll find a home for more punches and GGG will be experiencing something totally unfamiliar and disheartening. I don't think he'll drop Golovkin but if he did that's how I think it would play out.

 

I don't really see all this 'Oscar will fix the fight' thing.

Oscar was on the receiving end of a robbery against Trinidad and Mosley II. Mosley I could have gone either way and he didn't get that one either.

It's not like Oscar is always getting these lucky decisions in his favor.
