Golovkin goes for KO's, that is why his defense doesn't look elite

If Mayweather or Ward attempted to do the same thing they would get exposed. GGG goes for the knockout and not the boring decision victory which means that he has to be more open.

Love Mayweather or hate him, no one switches from defense to offense better than Floyd. I don't know why you'd lump Mayweather in the conversation.

Just going by his KO percentage and how much punishment he takes in a fight as a measurement of his defense. I think he is elite with respect to the way he fights to get the KO. Some other elites defensive fighters with impressive KO percentage includes the K brothers and Tyson.

Great defense. Textbook. Block, catch, parry, bob, weave, slip, counter, jab, and controls his distance. It works for him. Now do you have a clue what I am talking about.

That's not true, Mayweather has a fifty percent connect ratio. The best in boxing. That's offense up the yang yang and that's with the best defense in boxing.

What offense?! a leaping left hook? a single shot right? CANNOT throw a combination if his life depended on it..no pop in his shots at all.

    GO BACK TO BED SON!

Knocked Hatton out with a left hook, threw various combinations on Ortiz before treating him like a ***** with a left hook right hand combo. Hit the Ghost with uppercuts, left hooks and a right hand that was thrown four different ways. Threw plenty of combos on Cotto. Hit Canelo with left hooks and a tremendous uppercut, then fell up under his right hand and hit him with a four punch combo. What offense, it seems you don't watch much Mayweather.:bbb

There is absolutely nothing in boxing this black and white. Golovkin doesn't have "**** defense" but it doesn't look as good as Mayweather's just because he "goes for KOs."

    That's ridiculous.

When GGG fights world class guys who outweigh him by 15+lbs on fight night I guess his KO ratio will decrease. Also GGG has more of a power punchers style in the way he turns over his punches. GGG is a very good elite fighter but we will see in time whether he will become an ATG.
