"Golovkin has to move up" -wrong. Lemme cut you off there. He actually doesn't, ever.

Jofre moved up and won a WBC featherweight title against an excellent Jose Legra. Went something like 25-0 at the weight and could make a Top 50 list there without much difficulty.

C'mon....You knew that was coming, Gan. :good

That said, I'm okay with GGG staying at the weight for the rest of his career as long as he's able to face the best available opposition from this point forward. Moving up and taking on the soon to be lineal champion at 168 is nice and all, but wiping out your original division is something that isn't done all that often these days.

Aged 19/20 he fighting at junior welterweight. If he'd turned pro when most big stars do, he'd have already 'dared to be great' in the eyes of the blinkered folk.

Yeah, but there's no telling those prospects he's talking about are going to stay undefeated and become contenders. Clear out the best fighters you can then move up.:deal

    LoL.

He got handed a belt off a guy who never ever fought in the weight class and never beat another MW in his life. :rofl:oops:

Its unprecedented how weak the foundations to which is role as undisputed champion is built on.

He's not undisputed yet, dino. I'll give him that.

Danny Garcia was undisputed at 140. He never held the WBO belt.

Then that means he still has Saunders and Jacobs to go. If he accepts Lara's invitation to dance, that's another acceptable scalp on his resume. There's still work to be done @ 160lbs.

Yeah, I'm a huge Garcia fan, and though he was the best at 140, he wasn't undisputed.
