I'm guessing you're referring to me by that, but what's wrong with the fighters I listed? I know they won't make GGG a top10 ATG or anything, but who cares? I never claimed he will be, he won't. Why does It bother you so much?

and in theory..making that list is fine....but like i said...lets be real....he wont even fight but maybe 9 out of the 12 guys you listed....id be suprised if he fought any more than that...at best

yer basically trying to project the division to be hot in 3-4 years time....and using some guys are never going to be anything special and have already peaked

and like i said...i guarantee you if we made that list up and tied it to a different fighter at least 9 out of those 12 would be considered average fighters

we could go through any 2 divisions and project 12 guys that would be acceptable fights for a champion in one of those 2 divisions.....but its not definitley going to elevate their status or resume any....i could name 12 fighters from 135-140 that would project over the next 3 or 4 years that could be acceptable for t crawford to fight over the next few years....that of course depends on if you want to cut crawford slack or not

Some of them are sort of average actually, but they're the best challengers out there. And I don't really believe DeGale and Jack are so much better than Jacobs, Saunders and possibly J-Rock and Andrade in a couple of years.

Again, I'm not holding him to ATG standards, I don't care what the lunatic fanboys say. When I see a thread about GGG making easy work of RJJ or Toney(two of my all time favourites) It sickenes me too, but I don't judge fighters based on his troll fanboys' word.

 

i dont care if you think degale and saunders are "so much" better than some of those mws...the question is...can he land those jacobs and saunders fights in the next year? if not hes wasting time....he should try to get a jack or degale fight(i realize these also might not be feasible right now as we speak)...he should try to get a fight that proves something that we dont already know

simply taking on the "best available challenger" is a waste of our time...i already think lil g is very good....i wanna know how good...because most "very good" fighters end up testing themselves at some point...not hoping welters/jr mws give them a payday

when dom wade becomes the best available challenger you need to rethink everything...unless of course you are totally happy with that route....which is what i think they are happy with

they spent 2 years watching that wbc belt get passed around and defended at cws and they let it happen...hoping to get a welter/jr mw in the ring to use their name...and they had no actual guarantee to get that......

watching lil gs career unfold is actually frustrating and annoying to an actual "boxing" fan...and unbiased boxing fan....it may be a thing of beauty to the people of hbo and jim lampley....but they arent exactly unbiased here.....

 

Well, like IB said before, Ward is gone now, there's no way for him to truly challenge himself. That's the point IB was making, all he can do is to keep doing what he's doing and hope some opportunity presents itself, either @ 160 or 168. If you don't like it, just don't watch his fights or just ignore the fanboys who claim he's some ATG killer.

 

And u can see he clearly passed on the opportunity to truly challenge himself in favor of hoping a welter or Jr mw would fight him when he had no guarantee he would get either of them ....that's terrible

And I disagree that he should just do what he's doing and hope something presents itself..., that's all he's been doing and it's really gotten him nowhere (I know u will argue his success with hbo is somewhere ....but I'm talking respect wise and as far as building a real legacy)

He could draft up a list of say saunders jacobs Lara degale jack and someone else.....and go at all of them with offers and surely one will bite.......so no I don't think he shold just keep doing what he's doing .....beating dom wades ain't doing nothing for him but giving him an easy paycheck ......if someone else were doing that they'd be getting lambasted for it

I think that's exactly what they're doing, trying to make a fight with a top rated MW or jr MW (DeGale and Jack are unifying next, Ramirez has a fight scheduled) so if the next opponent is another Dominic Wade, then you'll be right. But I don't think It will, It'll be someone on the same level as Murray or Lemieux at worst.

 

You didn't get the point of why Pavlik was even mentioned in the first place, I reckon. And IB was way off about Mosley, if it really was that he "grew into his man body" then why did he skip the 140 pound division entirely to move up to WW? Simple because he dared to be great!!
