    You too, cut it out.

Nobody is calling Golovkin head and shoulders above the rest of his generation. Nobody is putting him in the convo with SRL and SRR.

There is a dfferent standard because he and Mayweather are different levels of fighter (very good, potentially just barely great versus capital letters All Time Great, among the best ever). Of course they will then be held to different standards. It would be ludicrous if they weren't. Get over it already. No reason for PBF's name to leap into anybody's mouth when discussing GGG.

Well trainer said recently he would have to move up if he wants to be great like his peers.

The only truth Abe has ever spoken.

He isn't peers with Mayweather and never will be no matter how many weights he jumps or even if he beats Ward.

Remains to be seen if all he needs to do is be white and pay taxes. I don't think so. I think people are pressuring their camp and HBO which lead to a desperate reach of a fight which really will depend if Brook is actually competitive. If he goes down like Khan then the backlash is going to be huge. Only his toughest matchups from here on out or be forgotten.

    True that, IB! :thumbsup

Even if GGG would have fought Ward @168, it wont do anything great for his legacy. In the weight Golovkin is at there are really not that many great fighters muchless HOF's (other than Ward) or ATG's. Unlike Floyd who fought several HOF and another ATG. Golovkin could have fought Cotto, Martinez, Canelo, Quillin, Jacobs, Ward and somehow finish up against Kovalev he will have a good chance at being a HOF, not an ATG. Not even with a resume like that. And yi make things worst, Martinez, Cotto and Canelo all avoided him. Moving up to 168 will be the same thing as in 160. Decent fighters @168 but none are HOF worthy.

Careful, you're making too much sense here - people with a set in stone agenda will soon begin to accuse YOU of having one just for being the voice of reason and not judging things from a 'side'. :err:

I agree, although I would like him to if the competition is poor at 160.

Since you mentioned Hagler, I've always thought he was a little overrated because he made his name in a close loss to a guy moving up and a win against another guy moving up.

Which is why I would prefer GGG to move up for his own legacy if there's nothing at 160.

Until Mayweather & the NSAC offer a legitimate excuse for 750 ml of ILLEGAL saline & the granting a TUE THREE WEEKS AFTER he received it Floyd Mayweather jr is nothing but a cheat & the NSAC are CORRUPT!!!!!!!!! End of story
Golovkin is a FIGHTER!!! In my book that beats a PED's cheat any day of the week

Er, okay, but in terms of résumé Golovkin isn't even close to Mayweather. (and probably doesn't have enough time left in his career to get close)

Hagler didn't exactly compete in a weak MW era. Even omitting the rest of the 4 Kings from his oeuvre, he beat lots of strong natural middles of whom many could be transplanted into most other eras and been successful contenders.

Golovkin fights in a weaker era but not so piss weak that he needs to go up to a decidedly piss weak SMW division to prove himself great.

He might have to, because if nobody is going to fight him in his own division, and he has to continue to look at 147 pounders and 154 pounders to fight, he might as well move up. It only makes sense to. I mean who's he going to fight? Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo, Cotto, ect. Don't want it..:conf so who? Heiland??

How do you know DeGale/Jack/Bute etc. want it any more than Jacobs/Saunders/Canelo?

He could end up in the same boat except worse - getting ducked by top super middles (a weaker crop than are the best middles) and fighting third-string guys at 168. What the hell is the point of that?
