It was a bit tongue in cheek but both guys are past their best. The pity is they both really don’t have that many credible options left but they should both view each other as winnable fights that will enhance their legacies. I like to needle the Golovkin fans because though he is a G he is not quite as good or great as they think. Let’s not forget Canelo fought Lara and got a narrow win.

There's not too many bigger GGG fans than me and I have always defended him but DirtyDan, I think you bring up a great point. What does GGG do now? If it's retirement just announce it. As far as big pay days go, against who? I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed, maybe it's not a huge money fight but their both old, a win over Lara is ok. I haven't heard of many big fights on G's horizon, if he's gonna keep fighting then Lara is at least a 'name' opponent.

This is not a good look for GGG no matter how it's spun.

He is salty that he lost 3 times to Canelo now you want him to face another skilled tricky Latino.

Fighting Lara won't generate revenue. He doesn't want to get punched in the face, lose millions of brain cells and shorten his life span further for a ridiculous $200K fee. The man is 41 years old.

He’s not ducking Lara. He’s ducking boxing.

I haven’t heard any reports of GGG being back in the gym seriously since the Canelo fight.

I think Golovkin's plan is to fight Munguia next & work with Golden Boy, probably one reason he decided to avoid this fight.

GGG is old. If he doesn't want to take on the challenges he just needs to retire

I forgot about a Munguia fight. Good enough reason for sure.

Yeah they have been trying to set it up for a long time now, seems the time is right for both guys at this stage in their Careers.

I suggest using Google. Lara called him out for like the last ten years. Your use of emojis suggests that you're an emotional GGG fanboy.

Calling out another fighter in a different division is all smoke and mirrors. You can't be that naive to believe Lara wanted to fight GGG. It was never on the table to begin with. Redundant cringe insults doesn't stamp your argument.

Emotional fanboy confirmed. GGG didn't want it. BTW Lara matched or exceeded GGG's performances against Canelo in a fight that took place at middleweight. Just the facts.

GGG brought up fighters from lower divisions so that no excuse. He will do the same if he fights Mungia , bring him up to 168 when only 3 years ago he was at 154
