I was just looking at the rating and noticed that Golovkin is rated #1 in the WBC & WBO, both of the belts Pavlik has.

When is Pavlik due for a mandatory defense?

He must have to fight Golovkin within the next several months, no?

Can someone break this down for me?

Why this guy is higtly rated yes the guy is talented but had fought nothing to be rated that hight well, that's an example of how easy is to get a title shot now days.

I've just been watching Dirrell/Golovkin on YouTube from the ams. Close fight.

Golovkin's good but its a shame the fight with Ishe Smith fell through at the last minute. I don't think it would be good to throw him in with Pavlik when his best opponent to date is Malik Dziarra. Doesn't exactly add up.

I think Macklin and Pirog are fighting in an eliminator for one of Pavlik's belts...

I think Golovkin can fight Pavlik... Anybody with the amateur background that Gennady has, shouldn't be moved safely... He was able to take Javier Mamani out early... Mamani is a competitive fighter...

I'd really like to see some of these guys like Pirog, Macklin, Golovkin, Gevor, and a few others come to the states and make some noise. The middleweight division is getting good again, but unfortunately nobody outside of hard core fans knows these guys.

To ear;y to put him against Pavlik.

He should get a fight with Smith,Gevor, the Italian guy Zbik fought for the title, etc before facing Pavlik.

He wants Sturm as he said it himself.

I am absolutely positive that Golovkin can hold his own against Pavlik. He was a highly decorated amateur and has shown very convincing performances at the pros up to now.
However,he doesnt deserve a shot at Pavlik.Well,we cant blame him for the selection of his opponents. His powerful German promoter is the one who calls the shots.
A pity that Ishe Smith had to call off his encounter with Golovkin due to an injury!!!
I ve seen two his pro fights live. To be honest I was quite impressed with him and the way he dismantled his opponents.
Nevertheless,I wouldnt dare to bet my money on him against Pavlik.
I tend to favour Pavlik, but it could really go either way.Tough call!

As for Macklin vs Pirog I will be happy if this fight really comes off.
I am truly looking forward to their encounter.Very promising fight IMO.
The winner of that fight for sure has the right to challenge Pavlik. And neither the Brit nor the Russian are that easy targets as Pavlik's next opponent Espino.Thats for sure, too'!

Golovkin is taking sturm out no matter who trains him..... I read somewhere golovkins is his mandatory for his WBA belt , does that mean golovkin is up next or has sturm still got a voluntary?
