Golovkin is so good that he makes top 5/10 fighters look like bums

I agree. Why doesn't he do it then? Does he and his promoters not have confidence in dominating another division? If he moved up to 168, I feel as though he'll be the favorite over everyone.

But for some reason, he has this fixation with fighting bums, tomato cans, and prospects. It's weird and frustrating.

Mayweather has moved up. He's climbed up and dominated 5 divisions, being lineal in 4.

Ward cleaned out and dominated 168 and hasn't had a fight in 2 years. Which is why he's fighting at LHW now.

They want to dominate the 160 division and unify the titles hagler did it so why can't golovkin?

Golovkin will move up but he DOESN'T NEED TO

I really take issue with you calling the fighters golovkin fought bums they were top 10 fighters not like wilders opponents

Didn't you call Maidana a bum when Mayweather fought him the first time? And he even had a belt.

Hagler was young who waited patiently to become champion and had Mugabi, Hearns and Duran to fall back on. He waited for his chance and glory came to him.

GGG is 33 years old, made 13 title defenses over abysmal competition, and only has 1 belt to fall back on which he won from an interim title. Realistically, what can a 33 year old do to become a great at a dead division? No matter how many tomato cans he's knocked out, he won't surpass Monzon, Hagler, Robinson, Grebb or Hopkins with the resume he has.

If he wants to become a GREAT he needs to move up and conquer another division with bigger and better men.

I don't see what you are trying to argue here?

Golovkin has made it clear he wants to unify the belts and dominate the division whats wrong with that?

He doesn't NEED to move up although once he does he will also dominate it.

    He is already GREAT

You're the op, you stated that GGG makes top 10 fighters look like bums. But they are bums, and I gave a breakdown of why they're bums.

It's fine if he wants to stay in a dead division knocking out tomato cans. He won't become a great though.

And no, he's not a great. If he retired right now, Arthur Abraham would rank above him. His resume is so bad that if Cotto were to beat Geale, Cotto would already have a better resume at MW than GGG.

He HAS to move up to become great just like other boxers in the past have done.

You calling past champions and contenders bumS?:rofl:rofl

bums are the ones wilder has fought

I can't really engage you in any sort of decent conversation when you call the likes of rubio, stevens, murray, geale bums thats just crazy

Golovkin is great the fact he has dominated elite level guys knocking them out easy says a lot

Kassim Ouma and Daniel Geale are the only former champions GGG has faced. Ouma was shot and a champ at 154 and Geale lost his belt against Darren Barker. The SAME Barker who got knocked out in TWO against a shot to **** Felix Sturm. The SAME Felix Sturm who lost to an ancient senior citizen in Sam Soliman. The same Soliman who in his prime got rag dolled by Anthony Mundine.

Wilder at least fought and beat a defending champion.

Rubio was always a gatekeeper, Murray lost to a cripple, Stevens was always a bum, journeymen at best who's fighting in BKB now.. :rofl

One cause for concern I do have regarding GGG is that his opponents invaribly seem to go South after facing him. Subsequent poor performances or inactivity seem to follow a bout with GGG. Geale could reverse this trend against Cotto and we have yet to see what Murray does but this is either a case of facing poor opposition or perhaps GGG simply takes a toll on the remainder of your career.

Truth probably lies somewhere in the middle as usual.

There's no comparison who has been fighting the better competition, I love Golovkin and he's doing what he's supposed to, obliterating guys not good enough to challenge him, Mayweather has fought solid competition with a few duds here and there, it's not GGG's fault the best in the division want little to do with him (yet), Mayweather guarantees a pay day and doesn't beat the absolute dog**** out of you.

It's generally agreed GGG has only had a few legit tests yet he fights 3 or 4 times a year, that's the state of the division.
