GGG is the furthest thing from a cherry-picker!

He wants to clear out the MW Division - NOBODY wants to fight him in the MW Division.

Golovkin is fighting the best that can be offered.

Actually GGG is just keeping it real here.... him calling out a guy who isnt in the ring due to legal battles, and talking about fighting Ward soon would just be spouting **** and dishonest.

Ward needs to get back in the ring and rebuild his name value before he is going to land a high profile fight. Even his own team recognizes this now, Wards team doesnt even want the fight at the moment.

Why? Because a year from now, if Golovkin successfully prosecutes his WBC mando and(/or) wins a PPV against a Mexican star and Ward has that time to work out his promotional issues and rebuild his name value then both fighters make several times more money.

Team Ward doesnt want the fight next any more than Team GGG, for the same reasons. Notice the different tune Wards' camp has been singing ever since Ward's manager and Loeffler make the Jennings-Perez fight together. You know they talked about GGG-Ward ( J Prince even referenced that potential fight during press conference) , and ever since Wards camp has been much less bellicose.

In fact both camps more or less say the exact same thing. Common sense says they are on the same page regarding making the fight - Ward needs to get his business sorted and remind the public why he is one of the best fighters in the world. GGG-Ward should by all rights be the next PAC-Floyd, neither side has an interest in rushing it.

IF and WHEN GGG decides to move up to SMW he'll have to add MUSCLE to make the weight.

IF and WHEN that happens, he's gonna have to lay aside his MW ambitions, b/c he'd be forced to take OFF muscle to get back to MW or LMW to make the $$$ fights S of 168.

IMO, he's making the right moves ATM. He's pursuing the WBC title and will impose his mandatory status on Cotto or Canelo should they fight, and force them to vacate should either duck him.

Cotto for some strange reason is sitting idly on his WBC title. He's got 1 fight left with Arum, and Im sure he was hoping it would be Bradley at 155. But Bob squashed those plans by robbing his #2 fighter in the Chaves fight.

Perhaps Bob has plans for Cotto outside the Canelo fight on HBO PPV. Im sure Bob wants the most bang for his buck, and Cotto is obligated to fight for Bob one more time.

But Cotto really needs to shiit or get off the pot, b/c he's got about 6 more mos to get into the ring or vacate his title. And that would leave GGG holding that belt, and essentially taking away the Cotto/Canelo 20 mil PPV.

The only sense this makes is if both BOB and Cotto are in agreement with him defending that title on the May v Pac undercard.

In the meantime, GGG will fight whichever 160lbr maintains his #1 ranking in WBC, retaining his WBA Championship, and or makes him the fattest stack.:good

And for all intents and purposes, only Froch and Chavez Jr make sense at 168 if he's gonna throw away the potential for a Mayweather/Cotto/Canelo/Pac fight/payday.:nono

has he even addressed or replied to ward calling him out? i love to watch GGG and his personality to boot he is certainly someone i can get behind and enjoy watching as a fan. he has many times said hed love to fight anyone from 154 to 168. a few names have called him out lara is a good example of someone i frankly dont blame him for not taking on because he really brings nothing to the table.. but 168 ward!? the guy was p4p 3 at least.. thats a huge fight for golovkin, sure take a tune up at 168 and then take on ward but atleast set the fight in motion

Nothing wrong with the Chavez fight, you're saying he should move up and fight Ward in his first fight at the weight? Stupidity.

I would truly be shocked the day I hear Ward has signed to fight Kovalev at 175 .

Cause I could never see it happening . Just way too much of a risk .

None of the people who give GGG **** about not fighting Ward say anything about Ward when it comes to moving up and fighting Kovalev, hypocrisy at its finest.
