Hypocrisy is more like saying Jacobs isnt a real Champ but going on about GGGs defense record when over half were in defense of the same title Jacobs has now and there was a Champ in place like GGG currently is.
Doesn't have to do with the thread in general but just something to think about

There's a world of difference there bud. Jacobs clearly isn't even the real WBA champ. That's 3G. But whether you agree or not, Canelo is, or was, the lineal MW champ until he gave it up. Apples and oranges.

The WBA made this mess. The WBA has to deal with this mess.

Danny Jacobs is the WBA (Regular) Middleweight champ. He's paid the WBA sanctioning fees for five middleweight title fights. He's made four successful defenses of their WBA middleweight belt. If he loses to Golovkin, he won't be the WBA "Regular" champ anymore. He loses his title.

So he can't be treated like Golovkin was fighting some regular schmoe rated in their top 10 ratings somewhere.

Jacobs isn't even listed in the WBA top 10 ratings, because he's one of their MULTIPLE middleweight champions.

If the WBA was going to create THREE champs in each division to collect fees, then they need to sort their crap out. They list a purse split in their "rules" for a Champ in RECESS and an "Interim" champ ... no doubt added for one particular circumstance ... which is 55-45 ... but they don't list a purse split for a WBA "Super" champ (which they coined) and a WBA "Regular" champ (which they coined) .. which is going to be a far more common occurrence now.

And "regular" champs in the WBA are considered a higher level than "interim" WBA champs.

It's amazing they haven't sorted this out already.

And since they are trying now to cut down of the multitude of WBA champs they have IN EACH division ... they need to figure that out. Like I said, they made this mess on their own.

Their current rules don't cover the mess they're trying to clean up.

Jacobs is well within his rights as A WBA MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION to not expect the same crappy 25% some other guy would make. Jacobs may not be "THE" middleweight champion, but this is a WBA purse bid and Jacobs is a WBA champion. He's not an ordinary WBA challenger, or they'd list him in their ratings with all their other WBA challengers.

The WBA should be accomodating. I hope they fight. And I hope it's on CBS.

I'd love to see Golovkin fight on NATIONAL free television. This is his opportunity to do that. He should keep that in mind. Giving Jacobs a fairer purse split could pay off in the long run for Golovkin if he can be seen by four, five or six million people in the U.S. instead of a couple hundred thousand.

This is fight is supposed to happen in 2 months. So, both fighters should be in training camp by now.
Are they? Does anyone know ? If I would be Danny Jacobs, facing the fight of my career, against a guy like Golovkin, I would be sweating my ass off by now.
I think its a legitimate question, and an indication if this fight will happen in 2016.

If you're going to point fingers then point them at somebody who is actually guilty of it.
