I had it 115-112 and 116-111. Can`t see how anyone could score this to Jacobs, just can`t see it. Both boxed beautifully at times, but Golovkin controlled the tempo and was the boss. Face, stats, everything points that way.

This was very similar to May vs. Cotto who did well, but lost by couple of points.. He almost had Mayweather but did not. Remind u guys, that narrow win didn´t downgraded anyone.

At no point did I get the sense that Jacobs was trying to actually KO GGG or win the fight. He just was too reluctant. He won some rounds but to act like he tried to press the action and either win or KO GGG is delusional. Didn't happen and it hurt him on the scorecards and rightfully so. He just didn't do enough.

This is where it comes down to opinions, for some people pressing the action is controlling the fight whereas for others it's the more negative boxer who is controlling the fight by avoiding the other guy.

It was an insanely close fight. Yes the punch stats favor GGG and yes much of Danny's offensive work caught Triple G's gloves. However in the context of the fight he was moving well, using his jab pretty well and staying busy.
I originally scored the fight 115-112 for Triple G then I scored it 114-113 for Triple G.
That's close! I do believe he won but I could see how some think Jacobs won. This was not Kovalev vs Ward. Which was a bad decision.
I want to see a rematch after BJS and Canelo. If Jacobs can still make weight.
Triple G Jab and cleaner punching earned him the win. He however should of upped the work rate he was too methodical and it nearly cost him big.

I have watched it twice, gave it to Golovkin both times, this fight was competitive and it was also very close. I was shocked it went 12 and was more shocked Jacobs came so close to winning it. For me even though he lost that was the best performance i have ever seen from him, very very discaplined all the way through.

And it was the worst ive ever seen GGG.

Gennady's problem is that when Jacob's threw a combination and shoe-shined, Gennady stopped moving forward and caught most of it with his gloves.

If instead Gennady had spun and turned Jacobs, or bent over completely at his waist, or leaned back and shook his head and gone "uh uh", and then raised his arms to the crowd and smiled, then all these so-called boxing fans would have been impressed by his incredible defense.

But catching punches on his gloves and then continuing to move forward and stalk? I'm sorry. It does not matter if Jacobs was completely ineffective. Or that Gennady landed more and did more damage to him. Gennady did not do an Ali shuffle or a Ray Leonard bolo punch in reply to a Jacobs flurry, run and celebrate. That means that Gennady lost that round.

theres no doubt 3G edged it. But a rematch would not be undeserved at all.

And I think that is just it. GGG isn't a big MW, Jacobs was and that size advantage plus his skill poses a little more problem for GGG than he's accustomed to. GGG should have been able to KO him but I think that extra 10-15lbs really helped keep jacobs in the fight

Close, competitive win for Jacobs. Even Golovkin seemed to realise it. Was definitely a close fight.

The fact that people seem so desperate to justify the decision says a lot.

This fight was closer than Kovalev-Ward, no doubt it. But in the GGG-Jacobs fight, the right guy had his hands raised at the end of the day
