I kinda thought that would be his strategy this time. Hope Im wrong and that hes just saying that to throw out false info but thats probably what he will do.

I dont know how that will work out for him... his strengths in this fight isnt in being the better boxer, its being the bigger stronger more powerful fighter with the higher work rate.

    I guess we will see...

that's what Abel should've told him to do after the 3rd or 4th round the first time. stop chasing Canelo and just keep the distance with the jab. if Canelo wants to engage let him be the one coming into range. that way Triple G stays fresh and can pick his spots.

I thought it was a close fight. Most rounds were close. I think anyone that denies that the fight was close enough that it could be scored either way puts their credibility into question.

I had Canelo winning. Overall I felt he landed the harder cleaner punches. There is no question Canelo demonstrated better defense.

I felt Canelo commanded the ring in rounds 1-3 and 10-12 and Golovkin fought his fight between rounds 4-9.

Finally, Golovkin despite being more aggressive, his agression wasn't very effective. His most effective punch was tge jab, but he missed nearly 70% of his punches, and the ones that he missed with most were his signature punches, the left hook and the overhand right.

Not a good strategy. Canelo is too fast for Golovkin to counter consistently. And Golovkin won't be able to lure Canelo in as fighting off the backfoot isnt something ggg does very well.

Golovkins best chance against Canelo is too pressure him and tire him or land a hail mary punches. Problem is that Golovkin look spent from round 9 on, and that's that he had a late start, and Canelo finished strong.

In addition I feel Golovkin despite handling Canelo's punches well lost something of himself in that fight. Some of the punches he landed on GGG have KO fighters. Yeah GGG has hell of a chin, but anyone who knows boxing knows that a chin can only take so much.

I don't deny its still a close fight, and its anyone's fight, but I give Canelo the slight age as he has proven to be more versatile and skilled.

We saw the fight differently. Though I do agree it was fairly close.

That might help him more in some ways, could play against him in others. But I have to say he mostly worked behind the jab and used a lot of body feints, it's not like he was swinging like in the first couple of rounds of the Brook fight.

That's true enough but across his career I wouldn't say he's taking a huge amount of heavy shots, certainly not to the chin.

You're spot on, he can fight any way he wants to, my only issue with that is if you say you're a Mexican Warrior and give it all that about Lara and others running and not wanting to stand and fight and then you do your best not to engage like the warrior you claim to be then you leave yourself open to be questioned on the things you say.

Team Canelo have said (Eric Gomez) they will not fight or have no interest in fighting BJS because after watching him against Lemieux they say he is a "runner", surely you can see the hypocrisy.

But like I said I agree, he can do what he likes.

He did fight though that's the thing. This in no way shape or form on the level of Lara or even De La Hoya/Trinidad which was 'RUNNING!"

Canelo's natural weight is 160 pounds. Hell he wouldn't look out of place at 168 pounds. But he's one of the most extreme and vicious weight cutters I've seen in a long time. It reminds me of Joshua Clottey. A natural MW who cut down to WW.

It can't be good for his longevity. And one day he's going to pay a price. I think Canelo's stamina issues are partly related to his big weight cuts. You weaken your body when you cut to unnatural weights. His mediocre power also may be in large part to his big weight cuts.

Canelo did show improved stamina in his GGG fight. And the older and aging GGG showed less of it than he had years before. Canelo probably benefits from fighting at more natural weight.

Mosley's been on the juice for virtually his entire career. I mean if he wasn't on the juice he would have looked soft at 154 pounds. Mosely is only 5'9" with a very small frame. Like 6 inch wrists and narrow hips.

Well GGG will be 36 years old against Canelo. How many 36 year olds do you remember imposing their workrate and pressure over a 27 year old primed guy like Canelo?

Not really, Golovkin had success after he began pressure Canelo.

You're posts reeks of bias and ignorance. No offense.
First of all what is Mexican to you? Finito Lopez, Juan Manuel Marquez, Salvador Sanchez, JCCsr, Saul Alvarez, highly skilled techniciams? Or are you insinuating Mexican is Margarito, Angulo, Rios, Golovkin? Come forward chin out fighters?
I'll tell you this, having watched Mexican boxing since a little kid, the one thing that makes Mexican's stand out is their dedication to attacking the body.
Also, why do you have an issue with Canelo using his skills in the ring? That's some weird issue you have there. Surely you want tp see fighters fight to their fullest potential.
Golovkin just said yesterday that he was going to "box" this time around. I hope not, I rather see him do what he does best, and Canelo do what he does best. That's like Canelo trying to outbox Mayweather when he should have imposed his size advantage a bit more.

Team Canelo didn't say that, Gomez CEO of GBP said that, just like President of GBP ODLH said hewasn't going to advise Canelo to fight Lara. It should be common knowledge that Canelo doesn't duck fighters, for now BJSaunders needs to wait his turn and continue building his brand in the mean time, because his ratings are horrible.

Also, Canelo committed to his punches, a lot more than Golovkin did, and if you look at power punches landed on stats, and actually saw who landed the cleaner harder punches you would not be able to say otherwise without a straight face.
