Jap Hearns KO'd in 3 by the Kazakhstani Hagler. :happy And this time the Hearns had never been stopped before.
Golovkin does seem the real deal, need to see him in with someone of his level. Ishida is pretty good but not on the level of Golovkin. Sure he beat Kirkland but he was an over rated ***** anyway.
Golovkin is a bad dude but at the same time at least he had the decency to lay Ishida out in front of the doctor. Classy dude :hey
thats because everyones running scared. even the brave aussie geale would prefer to fight a triology with mundine
How can people say he'd KO Sergio Martinez - a proven P4P ranked elite fighter - when he hasn't even fought a gatekeeper? I can't believe that nobody in a stacked division will fight him, there has to be a lack of willingness from his team aswell. Do people seriously believe that a dozen or so fighting men are petrified of him? Ok, he's high risk/low reward, i get that, but fighters will fight anyone for the right cash. If his own promotional company had as much faith in him as soon of the people on this forum, they'd put up the cash and then they'd have the desired fights.
I'm sure he might be finding it a bit tricky to get decent opponents - but at the same time he's signed to K2 promotions, and we know what they're like. They'll happily make money fighting against sub par opposition than pay slightly over the odds to get decent opponents in the ring.
No, Geale prefers to make money against Mundine. If Golovkin brought money to the table, he'd get the shot. But I don't know on what basis we're thinking Golovkin is a monster. Who has he beaten that lets us know: - that he's a massive puncher? - that he can deal with a world-class mover? While it's not his fault that he's not been getting the fights to show it, it doesn't make sense to start saying he's such a danger.
He's a middleweight who is unproven against the top fighters in his own weight class (not necessarily his fault). But talking about him v Andre Ward is fruitless.
I agree somewhat on the second point. But regards to the 1st point; you don't have to prove that you're a massive puncher by knocking out better fighters as it's pretty irrelevant. You either got power or you don't and boy has he got power! i.e Even if a proven elite fighter in Ward who's would be even bigger than Ishida, if Ward fought Ishida 10 times he'd win them all but would never come close to knocking him out in the way that triple G did.
I think for one reason or another he might have to fight Ward.Whos he going to fight in Britain?Herol Grahams over 50 and Alan Minters pushing 60.
You don't need to stop and elite fighters to prove you have serious power. Ishida has never been stopped and he's a tough fighter, so even if he isn't world class, destroying him in that manner is a sign of good power. And a lot of the hype comes from his exceptional amateur career.
That last sentence says a lot.His pro resume may not be all that hot,but as said he's dealt with them with some ease. Also could it be that the others at the top are none too keen on fighting him?I think the way he dealt with Bute was really impressive, and Lucien didn't suddenly become a bad fighter when Carl Froch beat him.He was a world champion, and a good one at that.
Only my opinion, but if he was inMartin Murrays shoes I might have had a bet on him to do just that.As it is,reckon Martins not without a chance.
