i think he knew behind it all he was still winning, i mean he did outland him by 60 punches and landed the harder punches still to tentative, i think he was happy to sit behind the jab and build up a lead
Substance over aesthetics. Second, GGG did not look good and that killer urgency and killer instinct wasn't there like we are accustomed to seeing. For two reasons. One, Jacobs is a pretty good fighter. He's better than we thought. Second Golovkin is past prime now. Golovkin is a technician. He controls angles. He controls range. He controls timing. All these things are made easier when you have not physically declined. At 35 Golvokins stamina, reflexes and quickness have eroded. Its hard for him to control ring real estate anymore. He's just aging.
I think, for the most part, Golovkin probably showed Jacobs too much respect. That said Jacobs put up a tremendous effort and made it a tough fight for Golovkin. It was surely a close fight and Golovkin did look beatable tonight, but I need to watch it again to be sure of my scores.
