But people rate Duran higher for taking and losing the fight in the manner he did.

Perhaps some people do. Just like how some rate Hagler lesser for struggling with him some.

    Different eras either way.

Sugar Ray Robinson didn't get rated even higher than he was before for passing out against Joey Maxim and losing when he rose up in weight. Nonito Donaire didn't get rated even higher than he was before his losses to Rigondeaux and Walters just because he was willing to fight them. Etc. Etc. Etc. Once you've accomplished a certain amount in legacy, no loss, barring a robbery, ever helps your resume.

People act like Floyd needs to move up from 147 to 160. They must not realize he's 38 years old and has risen up from 130 over the years.

Nobody told Hagler or Monzon they needed to move up at any point. Nobody called out Willie Pep for needing to rise up more divisions.

Because the modern fan likes nothing more than to see the fighters they dislike lose, fighting out of one division nowadays is considered cowardly.

Highest weight Mayweather has competed at is 154. Golovkin said he will come to 154, and if the Mayweather fight was offered, I'm sure he would.

Why don't you just say the real reason you are so opposed to this fight- you think Golovkin would win. Nothing more nothing less. As I'm sure if Mayweather fights Cotto next at 154 or above, you'd be totally banging the drums for that.
