Rumor has it GGG will get paid 10 mil $ for his fight in June, if he can't get Canelo or BJS he needs to move up ASAP. Hammer out a PPV with Groves, Eubank or DeGale in UK, that's money right there. UK is where it's at now and I wouldn't be surprised of Golovkin wants to explore that market before retiring (his fight with Brook was a big success).
This is just a threat to ODLH that the big money fight might not be there if GBP keep pulling stunts. It's in response to GBP threatening to delay the Canelo - GGG over the June BJS fight. I wouldn't take seriously anything K2 or GBP say right now, to be honest. I'd be surprised if GGG went to 168.
Expect yellow Canello to move to 160 after GGG's first fight at 168. What about BJ Saunders fight? That needs to happen.
What exactly are you making up ? Team ggg had made everything crystal clear AND DONE EXACTLY AS LAID OUT. Since day ONE, always been about collecting ALL the mw belts which is still #1 goal and if they beat hops record along the way then great. Said he'd go to 154 only for a fmj fight and or 168 ONLY for a big ppv which they tried the only 168 ppv fighters. So what had you convinced yourself (state of delusional) they said or didn't do ?
GGG should retire after the Saunders fight if canela won't face him. I think he had peaked in the lemme fight and is slowing down in every fight after.
IF he can secure the BJS AND Canelo fights this year, I'd be more than happy with him moving to 168. I don't think he ever does though, realistically. He'll be 35 in a month and he's making 160 EASY.
ANYONE from 154-168, only to change it to ONLY PPV or ONLY Floyd etc. Like I said, they had to change their tune or clarify things. Best to stay quiet. Claiming to move to 168 sounds about as fruitless as anyone from 154-168. Collecting ALL the belts, I get it. Canelo doesn't have one though. He vacated.
Golovkin would be smart to finish with BJS and Yellow Canelo and then call it a career. He has nothing more to prove. I think it would be a mistake to move up to 168 this late in his career. I hate it when, in the twilight of a great fighter's career, they move up for the big money fights. I understand the rationale but it often times creates a sour ending to an otherwise great career. I think Golovkin is too smart to move to 168. He is not big enough.
I'm enjoying watching the Golovkin haters squirming over this one. "Oh no! We said he was a bum who would never move up, and now he's going to unify, break Hopkin's record AND move up! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO??!!!"
GGG-Eubank Jr is the best fight to make at 160, and GGGs best option there for a payday if Canelo doesn't happen. GGG made double against Brook than what he did Jacobs, that fight would be even bigger in the UK.
