GGG needs to get down to 159lbs so he can fight Sergio for the lineal middleweight title.

Yeah, perhaps Schaefer/Haymon would've been the better way to phrase that. Al's made a fortune by taking on the "advising" role without the promotional risk. Although Duva's lawsuit may result in a change to that dynamic, he won't take on the promoter's risk until he has to- that's what Schaefer's for. Odds are that Chavez will wind up with whatever promotional venture Al wants him at (probably Schaefer's).

I think Chavez's camp saw the writing on the wall that GGG was a cash-out fight for Top Rank. Once Haymon saw the same thing, he showed Chavez a plan that will result in more money for less risk.

In other sports, that's tampering. In boxing, that's business.

Tom did retweet it when Schaefer said Quillin was ready to fight. So, they will probably at least make an offer. Color me skeptical about it actually happening, but there is hope.

Of the aforementioned names, Rubio would be the best.. but Rubio is looking for Vera or some other guy - maybe it was Bursak? I forget.

Its a shame, it would have been nice to see GGG fight a guy you werent positive would just get flattened. On that note, Vera is a possibility. After all, noone can say Vera does not have a chin. But even if he went the distance, he is nowhere near as good a boxer so winning would be a very long shot.

GGG had better get his ****** ass busy or he looks even more like Bute than he does now.

he should give Dawson or Cloud a call but knowing GGG, he's probably on the phone with Glen Johnson.

Why should Golovkin....who's a middleweight be contacting light heavyweights?

He should clean up at 160 and then move up.

Golovkin should try to get a fight with the winner of Geale-Murray.

 You're naive if you think Golovkin will ever clean up the middle weight divison. Kid Chocolate is with showtime and David Sturm is never leaving Germany to fight Golovkin in America. The winner of Cotto vs Martinez will be cashing out either against Floyd or Canelo. So who is Golovkin gonna clean up against? The man is 32 years old with a resume of 21 year old prospect. He has been in boxing for almost ten years and has yet to fight world level fighter. What Golovkin needs to do is move up to 168 where their are plenty of high profile fight for him.

If he doesn't get Martinez, which I don't think he will he can still fight Grape and Murray. Kid Chocolate doesn't want any of GGG and here lies the problem he can't get the elite to fight him. If I was him give it another 12months if no fights against Martinez, Frame etc materialize then move up.

But to say he's never fought a world level fighter is just pure bull****.
